Planner task notification go only to assigned to and task manager
Notifications and updates should only go to the assigned persons and the task creator/owner
This includes updates to task status.

I noticed that when somebody else assigns me a task in Teams that i get an email notification. However, I noticed that when I assign myself a task that I do not get an email. Getting an email even when i self assign would help keep accountability especially setting an email reminder in outlook.

To enable scrutiny by heads of department I add them as owners of the team. This means that, every time I set an assignment, they will have it added to their assignments page due to being an owner. Over time this could increase the number of assignments to 20x (assuming the whole department did the same) the amount that they would have if it was on their own assignments appearing.
A 'don't send notifications' or 'only show my assignments' option on the assignments page would stop an overload of unnecessary information being shown.
