Meeting End Time Chime warning
When in a Teams meeting leveraging either a Surface Hub or Skype Room System (SRS) it would be nice if the system would give a notice that the meeting is about to end.
When a meeting is coming to an end at 5 minutes remaining, then 3 and then 1 minute remaining that the system does a audible chime to allow the users and the host of the meeting that there meeting is about to end and to wrap up the conversation to leave the meeting room on time so the next group can get in there and start there meeting started on time.
Currently today the Polycom Trio 880- Skype enabled phones have that feature and it works great.

Would be fantastic in a classroom setting too. If this was an option, I wouldn't be keeping my students from attending another teacher's class (or vice versa)
This would be useful in general for all meetings please, regardless of whether hosted on a room system or desktop.
This is a good idea. With the high uptake in teams we now spend lots of time back to back on teams and this would help avoid over running.
yes Samir I agree with your suggestion of a silent 15min but visual countdown clock. over running meetings are a constant challenge for hospitality teams to deal with. perhaps only required when a 'location' is added to a teams meeting?

I fully support the idea, especially when combined with the feature to end meetings few minutes earlier. It can be some unobtrusive notification. I like the comment from August 07, 2020 10:14
A pop up on any device, configurable: with/out chime; banner/other; default on for all meetings (at global, user and meeting level).
Link it with the Outlook option to default all meetings to 25 mins and 50/55, and this starts to address key issues with current remote working - back to back meetings with little break time, learning new behaviours around chat/informal time in meetings.

How about having a countdown counter instead which starts when 15:00 minutes are left and silently starts counting backwards and appears on the screen. It is good enough time for people to gather their thoughts and start wrapping up - also, if a meeting is going nowhere (which happens) then also people can agree to stop there and reconvene at another day/time.

I think this issue is not only for meetings with Surface Hub or SRS. I think it would be good default option for all of the meetings.
Also great idea from Marwa that notification should not be just "meeting will end in couple minutes". It would be good to guide participants that please wrap it up.
Marwa offers an excellent recommendation for integrating a notification pop-up that tells the group they have 5 minutes left. The host of the meeting should be able to see the metrics regarding the effectiveness of the time warning (e.g., did we go over today, if so, perhaps that warrants a more explicit agenda for the meeting to reinforce the importance of ending on time). I predict that the time warning will give participants a sense of urgency.
+1 to above idea, even a user friendly note on the screen “it’s time to wrap up” would be useful. :)
It's true that we all know that when 5 min is left, it's good to sum up the discussion and next action points, but how many stay till the last minute and either end up having a longer meeting or pausing on the spot with no clear conclusion?
If everyone sees it's 5 min left (for ex. 5 min for any meeting that is 30 min+ long, shorter might not make sense) then all will start thinking about closing the meeting.
One aspect, why not all might like it, is that some groups might feel that something is imposed on them. We could go around it by allowing members to set this option (ex. feature on/off) in their settings, so it would apply for calls scheduled by them only.
ps. it would be cool if was tested with some group of users and we could see stats if, and if yes by how much this one increased the number of meetings closed with a conclusion or even no. of meetings closed on time.
Perhaps add both the banner and the chime as user-enabled options so we can utilize either or both as needed.

I definitely would like to avoid hearing a chime, so I like the banner idea. Just a quick flash that auto-dismisses itself in a few seconds. I think it is important to not have this notice show up in any of the screen or audio recordings. I don't think I would like to see 3 warnings show at different time periods though... maybe just a single 3 minute warning to remind everyone to wrap up.

Kalle Järvi, I agree with the banner at the top, too.

In addition to this it would be maybe good option to have this kind of 5 min warning banner on top your screen as you are not necessarily always connected to those additiona devices.
