Teams freezing during screen sharing
Screensharing during Teams conference meetings occaisonally causes the sharer's Teams to freeze lately. Have to restart computer to use Teams again.
Yes. This is a big problem making Teams useless. It's a good idea, horribly executed. MS seems to think it has the same monopoly over distance communication systems that it enjoys in the world of computer OS so people will have to endure its horrendous design. Windows is the only good idea they ever came up with--and that was stolen. Every other MS idea--from the MS store to its phone--has been a total flop. Now add Teams to that ever growing trash heap.
as soon as i share my file ,my MST gets hang .pl help me out.
Let me add myself to the long list of complaints on this screen sharing freeze. Com'on MS move your a..!!

Problem with freezing presentation still occurs. Seems worse when the presentator is connected on company VPN. Big problem for bussiness meeting!
Anyone has same experiance lately? Or some workaround? :)
I happens to me all the time, several times per day and I am really frustrated. This has lasted for several months, too many. Just today, this morning, I have been restarting my computer 4 times in the middle of Teams sharing...unworkable.
I have Teams meeting 80% of time, can you believe how many times I need to reboot.
Seems to me nobody from Microsoft is watching this space.
I have a PC laptop only with Microsoft products, the PC is itself from Microsoft and the OS is Microsoft and this freezes are only happening with Teams.
BTW, Zoom is fine, less features but at least does not hang my computer.
Shared contents if freezing for the people shared to. Happens if sharing the whole screen, app, or tab. Have tried sharing to crome/edge web client or to teams app. Same problems. Freezes within seconds.
I see this problem posted multiple places and quoted MS techs saying it's a known problem, but no official statement anywhere I can find :-(

I only use Teams in Chrome, this used to happen once a while. But, in the past couple months it happens every time someone screenshares. It happens after 30 seconds of sharing and the person sharing has to unshare then reshare their screen to fix the issue. Started to go back to using Slack since this is obviously a real pain.
I switched laptops and the issue continued.
We are also experiencing this issue. The situation where we see it is if the person sharing their desktop then connects to our wireless tv. When the connection is made to the tv, then the Teams share is frozen for everyone except the person sharing (and connecting to the tv). Our workaround is to have someone other than the sharer to connect to the tv.
Still having this issue. Every time I share screens or am watching a screen being shared by another colleague I have a hanging issue. I believe this to be the UDP dropping sync and never resyncing. This has become a major issue at the office and we are debating if we will continue to use Teams as our primary source of communication.
Please let us know if there is ANYTHING we can do. It seems that this has been an ongoing issue which should be addressed by Microsoft.

On the other hand, if the issue persist on Teams desktop client, at once we would like to suggest you kindly clear the Teams cache, try to see if it makes any difference. Below are the steps:
A. Sign Out from Teams application.
B. Go to File Explorer, paste “%appdata%\Microsoft\teams” in location box and press Enter.
C. Clear files in “%appdata%\Microsoft\teams\blob_storage” location.
D. Clear files in “%appdata%\Microsoft\teams\Cache” location
E. Clear files in “%appdata%\Microsoft\teams\databases” location
F. Clear files in “%appdata%\Microsoft\teams\GPUcache” location
G. Clear files in “%appdata%\Microsoft\teams\IndexedDB” location
H. Clear files in “%appdata%\Microsoft\teams\Local Storage” location
I. Clear files in “%appdata%\Microsoft\teams\tmp” location
J. Restart Teams and login your account.
My computer freezes when I use screen sharing in Teams. I have also had it lock up when I am just using my camera. I spent 90 minutes with a Microsoft 365 technician the other day, only to be told that my PC is not the problem and that freezing is a known issue with Teams. Since I use Teams for business, this is not at all helpful information.
I tried to host a simple screen sharing session to walk a potential client through some steps and it kept freezing up. The only thing more disappointing is seeing such a long list of identical experiences without Microsoft feedback. Time to log back into Zoom.

Same issue here in MS Teams… as soon as a teammember sharing an excel file, starts to edit the file… Excel freezes.
No solution found yet.
When I screen share, the screen freezes for people at the other end of the call while I'm presenting. I have tried closing other apps, restarting, deleting temp files but it continues to occur.

We are having the same issue with the Excel desktop application freezing when sharing in Teams. This is a big issue for us.
Go to settings ->General ->application. and check 'Disable GPU hardware acceleration'
That has resolved the issue at least for me now.

We have seen this issue for many users while sharing documents in excel, word etc , irrespective of version of windows or Teams
MS recommendation to install the July 17 patch is not resolving the issue .
However share screen usually works without issue
The same issue happening for the users in our organization.
Workaround: Share the screen instead of sharing the excel or any office application.
