Teams Shifts - Option to not require approval for shift offers & swaps
Owners need to approve all shift offers and swaps, it would be good to have an option not to make approval mandatory, so owners manage the shift schedule, but members can swap and offer shifts without requiring approval.

I would suggest looking at flow/PowerAutomate. There are triggers such as when an open shift request is created and an action to approve. Personally not tested it yet but may satisfy your requirements.

We would really appreciate if this could be made optional as the usage of shifts is different from Team to Team

Indeed, we don't have managers.
But are forced to have by Teams.Make this optional, like others do.

Agreed - would love The option not to have to do any approvals and let the software act as a shift calendaring system instead of mandating management practices.

Please add a function to disable manager approval for swap requests. At this point, the manager will be the single point of failure if the manager is not available to approve a swap request. Please add this function as soon as possible.

+1
As long as each of the shifts are assigned we don't need to approve every change.
Can be useful for holidays or other absences. -

We absolutely want this as well. Members can swap shifts, as a manager you don't care as long as they are filled.
It shoud be configurable for which kind of request an approval is required by the manager : for example not for swaps byt for holiday request an approval is required

I absolutely want this. I don't care who takes the shifts, as long as they're filled. And while it's not a problem for *my* team, I'm sure that other groups would need to be able to set things like hour limits, so that approval would be required if a request put someone over their limit per pay period (into full-time, or into overtime).

Making it optional for time-off requests would be useful as well. We are using Shifts for an on-call schedule and are using time off requests for unavailability. The schedulers don't really approve or deny requests. Making it optional would save them time and notification spam.

We would like this option - managers don't need to approve swaps.

I would like to modify this suggestion. As long as the swap does not push either party over 40 hrs, the owner does not need to approve the swap/offer. However, if it does move one or the other over 40...require the approval.
