Allow the addition of Alt Text for images
The addition of Alt Text is a basic accessibility consideration. Currently we can't do this is Teams (you can do it easily in Yammer).
Currently we are using the work around of adding descriptive text when posting an image.

Alt-text is super important for screen reader users, it can't be avoided. It's the USA law Sec 508!!

I can't believe this is not possible in Teams - this requires a fix as soon as possible to maintain reputation as accessibility advocates!

If you are truly an accessible organization and believe in giving everyone access, we shouldn't even have to ask you to do this or vote on this.

I cannot believe that this is not available. Alt-text is a basic function that allows the widest use of Teams and is at the heart of inclusivity. When can this be sorted?

This is a standard feature and needs to be added urgently. Not a nice to have

I'm really shocked that this feature hasn't been added as standard and that we're having to ask for it!

We have a CST customer requesting this for employees who use screen readers. Would be great if this were added to a coming update.

Not only we need alt text within teams but the function to add alt tex will also need to be accessible. The platform already have good accessibility features so this will make it even better and set an example for others out there.

Alt text is essential for blind and low vision people. Its absence is a disservice to members of our community that need it, and a potential legal liability for institutions adopting this product. Do you have a plan to fix this?

All I can do is to add my agreement to all of the comments below. This is not a 'nice to have', but a necessity, particularly in the current situation where so many are locked down and working from home on less than ideal internet connections. Accessibility should always be by default.
