Guest access - more control and more permissions
There are several different levels of 'guest' but very little control over assigning rights and permissions. Guests might range from an external consultant running a project to a supplier invited to view an RFP. Both would have completely different requirements. There needs to be the ability to create several different guest roles and have granular control over access to sharepoint assets. Let us manage access to our own tenancy for guest users!

I too agree with this,
I work with State DOT's, and vendors that use teams. Being able to grant 'User' level permission at a granular level to 'Trusted Guest' is what we really need. Teams is so close to replacing so many stand alone tools. It almost seems like a sad oversight with this level of functionality in other products was missed by the MS Teams, team. It would be nice to be able to save licensing fees for the 10 other tools that Teams can do.

I would agree with this. I work for a local authority and we have been holding some Councillor meetings using teams during the Covid-19 outbreak and will no doubt use this more in the future. We have co-opted Members who are non elected Members but have the full rights of Councillors who join meetings, currently as guests. We also would have members of the press or even members of the public joining the meetings as guests, listening in where meetings are accessible to the public. Therefore we need to be able to amend guest accesses e.g. co-opted Members would have full rights. Public and press would have no speaking rights or ability to see the chat bar, just be able to listen to the discussion. Giving more control of rights to meeting organisers would be very helpful.
