Ability to control who has access to muting all other meeting participants.
In other meeting platforms (Webex, GoTo Meeting), only the meeting host or delegates hosts have the ability to mute everyone else in the meeting. In Teams, everyone can mute all other participants and this is a concern for companies switching over from those platforms.
Can we create an option where only the meeting host has the ability to mute all other participants?
The option to allow only the meeting organizer to mute attendees is enabled via presenter & attendee roles:
Presenters can do just about anything that needs doing in a meeting. Attendees have limitations on the actions they can initiate within the meeting, including the following:
- Mute All
- Remove/Add Users
- Admit Users from Lobby
- Start/Stop Recording

Teams is a great app, though relying on people to be considerate and obliging with regard to self control and muting is not working. Our business convenes regular sessions for hundreds of employees. The constant noise and interruption by unmuted attendees is so intolerable at times, I resolve to leave the meeting which is not what the teamsapp is about. PLEASE make a good app BETTER by adding mute all for the meeting organiser, allow the meeting organiser to control the meeting, just as a chair would any usual business meeting. Come on Microsoft get on to it PLEASE.

This is a must need to move to Team from other meeting platform
please we would like this as well for controlling online meetings
Yesss please! this is immensely required. We have all moved to online distance learning because of COVID-19.

Yes please! I can speak on behalf of about 30 other teachers who want this at my school. We have all moved to online distance learning because of COVID-19. Would love to see this feature. Thank you for everyone at Microsoft who are working so hard on changes like this!

This is a must needed feature as only organizers should have control. We have also noticed that anyone in meeting can remove others too.

This needs to become a priority, specially since covid19 is making everyone teach remotely.
Yes please! This would make a big difference in classroom situations.
This would be essential! And also if we could have a button students could virtually press to ask permission to speak. A bit of order please! Hahaha! Thanks you so much! Bye now! 😆

Yea that would be nice. It would also be nice if i could mute all my students with out them being able to unmute again

Due to the corona situation Teams is used heavily as a means of virtual education, but at the moment the students can mute the teacher during a lecture. It would be really nice to get this fixed.

This is a basic feature that needs to be implemented. Annoying that it been years and this feature isn't available yet
Yes this! Why in the world can anyone in the meeting mute everyone else. That is absolutely ridiculous. There should be a setting for presenter/organizer that only allows them to mute all.

dude!, this has been killing us in larger meetings when some joins and they "accidentally" click mute all! there should be some host and presenter types of designations
Same here! If i run the meeting as a organiser i dont want the participants to be able to mute me! Or to mute anyone for this matter. I would even go as far as it should not be possible to unmute at all but only to raise a hand. Thx Rob
Kaiser Permanente - my customer would like to see this implemented for one of their use case.
