Guest user in Shifts
Would like to add guest users in Shifts as they work alongside other team members.
Due to other priorities, this has been moved to the backlog. We will update you as we evaluate in the future.
Please add the ability to add guests from outside organization to Shifts.
I found a workaround for the time being. As an owner of a Team channel you can modify/add/delete the types of requests in the Settings tab of Shifts. I added each of our outside guest names as a request Type. The downside of this is that someone in the organization that is in that shifts channel can then select from the list of names in the type of Requests and a note the type of Request. We primarily use Shifts as a calendar view so peoples within a Teams channel can see if people are out of office
Any update on this? We have outside developers that are included in a Team Channel and we want a way to track their time.

I am not really certain at this point in the COVID pandemic response what else can be developed that is more important than the ability to collaborate outside of one's organization. From state to local entities and everyone in between, we need this ability sooner rather than later. We have a multi-jurisdictional task force that needs the ability to work in one platform - we all have Teams, but we have a difficult time working together because of this guest access restriction.
Further, the need to add guests to Shifts will facilitate the multi-jurisdictional approach of being able to deliver vaccines to our citizens in a more timely and efficient manner.
Thanks in advance for taking another look at this - sooner rather than later.
Hi, Please can we get a update on this, its been over a year and we really need the guest accounts to access shifts

We would like to be able to add guest users to Shifts for a new service we are launching. Due to the large volume and temporary nature of the roles they will not have company email addresses. Is there an update on when this might be developed? We will require from July 2021.

I would like to add guests to shifts as not all members of my team have an internal email address. Some have hotmail, outloook, gmail etc.
I really need to have guests on shifts. Otherwise I’ll be force to find an alternative program
Hai is it possible already to add quests to shifts in teams?
Would really love for this functionality to be included in a new version of MS Teams. Our hospital department would greatly benefit from it. Please, hear out the users!
Can you please update on this issue as it is preventing us from using shift
Really need guest access to Shifts.

Guests access to the basic functionality of Shifts is necessary. Not everyone has or will have a Microsoft 365 account. This may be an aim but this is not the way to encourage people to do so.
Will use other free software's like google calendar.
Please push this up the priority list. It’s imperative for those of us working without lots of additional temporary staff as we battle COVID 19
If you would raise the priority of this task, Shifts adoption could increase a lot.
We are using MS Teams as a central hub for most coordination with our clients and Shifts features for guest would help us collaborate more easily.
Would love for this to be prioritized. I echo the comments here - we work with many first line workers, contract workers and other types of workers in a collaborative environment. Guest feature for shifts would be very helpful. Please prioritize.

I second this comment 100%
"It's not feasible for employers with a large contingent/temporary/seasonal workforce to acquire licenses for all staff, so it's really problematic that we can't add guests to Shifts. Shifts will never be competitive with other T&A solutions if an O365 license is required for every employee."

With the push to accommodate Front Line workers it is imperative that we be able to add guest shift workers. I have fire fighters and police that are shared with other organizations that we need to be able to schedule without having to license. They can already participate in our Teams but we cannot extend the functionality with shifts.
are there any news? Shifts would be perfekt for many departments in our company, his is the only blocker, because we work with many external companies.
I would also like to see this feature added - along with the guest being able to manage the Shifts - for example, an external HR person that comes in once a week who is a teams guest should be able to manage the shifts.
Also, HR should be able to handle leave requests as a guest.
