Meeting invites sent to entire channel
I have seen a few complaints about this, and comments saying this issue is resolved, but this does not appear to be the case. I set up a meeting with only one person in my channel and in the interest of being transparent I choose the channel the meeting was for thinking others would be able to just see a meeting was taking place. Instead everyone in the channel received a meeting invite which was not my intent. In addition, I was not aware they had until someone contacted me asking if they really needed to attend. If this is the way this function is supposed to work then there should be a clear indication that the entire team is being invited. For example the “Invite People” could already include the channel to show that the entire team was invited. Seeing this would at least cause the meeting facilitator to pause and decide if that was really their intent.
This video contains a work around for scheduling meetings in public channels without inviting the whole Team. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWfb5eHeo_Q

If you haven't already done so, please add your votes to this thread on the same subject - https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/33656554-do-not-invite-the-whole-team-to-a-channel-meeting
This is incredibly frustrating. Apparently our channel has been sending meeting invites to our entire team for meetings they have no interest in (or need to) participate in. We used a channel instead of a separate team because we want our files and discussions viewable by the whole team. It turns out, we've been spamming our co-workers and management with our own internal minutia.
I have the same situation/need! When explicit peoples are to integrate in a meeting, that is placed in a channel, only these peoples has to become the appointment in Outlook. For all others in the channel, its only for information and to find after the meeting-notes based on this context.
It's very confusing when each member of a channel will become the appointment in Outlook
