Recurring Shifts
Allow setting a shift as recurring with beginning and end dates

Thank you for your feedback! We are hard at work improving the Shifts app experience including adding recurring shifts. In the meantime, we wanted to share some tips and tricks to help with some pain-points mentioned:
1) Make Edits to Your Schedule (Delete, Undo, Minor Copy Edits): Shifts works similarly to Excel in certain regards, so make sure to highlight shifts with your mouse and utilize keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V, Ctrl+Z) to copy, delete, or undo actions. We find it helpful doing this particularly in month view and week view.
2) Copy Button: Use the copy button on the top right to copy any timeframe you need for the entire schedule.
3) Search for Shifts in Creation Phase: When creating a shift, utilize the search command to find shifts that have already been created in the past.
We’ll keep you posted when we have more news!

This certainly needs to be implemented - it's very tedious having to get staff members copy and paste the same shifts across the year(s)!

Any Update. I would think this would be a no brainer. Please add this as it makes the tool very cumbersome to setup and continue using...

so 11 months later and a simple fix hasn't materialised and no update..Maybe we need to look to move a responsive Allow setting a shift as recurring with beginning and end dates that respects its clients.

I can’t believe they shipped a scheduling feature without recurring shifts? What in the world is the point of this without recurring events?

@shift devs
We need an update on this ASAP!
Why is a feature SO fundamental to ANY scheduling tool not only not implemented in its first build but has been 'ON THE BACKLOG' since MARCH with no update in over 7 months!
Some indication as to the flowing would be appreciated:
Is there a likely ETA?
What are your reasons for this 'feature' being 'on the backlog'?
Why are other features being put ahead of this one even though it has substantially more votes? Please could someone reply and give us an update ASAP please!?

I am puzzled why this is the second most requested item and is "ON THE BACKLOG"? I Have a division I want to use this with that has approximately 100+ people, to manually enter all those shifts week after week is a deal breaker. If this works as I want it I could roll this out to the other two divisions for a total of over 400+ people using this system. Please reconsider and move this up to Active and Working On It!!!!!! Please!!! Thank you!

Creating recurring shifts is the most common requirement for any shift management tool. Copy/Pasting shift is cumbersome and unproductive. Please include this feature to make Shifts really usable.

Can we please get the recurring shifts function?!?!?

This feature is highly requested, why hasn't there been an update since March 14, 2019?

I would say backlog is not the appropriate tasking priority for this issue. The addition of a recurrence option from a coding standpoint is trivial and placing something as fundamental as this feature into a 'backlog' is a rather poor demonstration of prioritization on Microsoft's part. It's akin to the severity of Ford or GM forgetting to include seats in your car... Just the two cents of an experienced Product Dev. Manager.. Practicality, Usability, and Customer Experience govern the adoption and continued success of a product line/suite.

Shifts is useless without this. It should have been a part of the core design, the fact it is still not implemented doesn’t fill me with confidence that all is well in the land of microsoft.

I thought there would be simple instructions here on how to do it. Unbelievable this is not possible yet!

Any updates on this? Too much manual intervention is needed currently.

Seems like a basic thing that should have been there v1 just saying. Without this, it's unusable for my team. Wayyyy too much manual work involved given most of the time my shifts are set.

Any sort of timeline on when Shifts will be able to handle recurring shifts?

Can we please add this feature? It's quite annoying not being able to do this.

so you posted this nearly 9 months ago....how long is the back log for such an obvious and easy feature ?

PLEASE ADD A WAY TO MAKE SHIFTS RECURRING.
Also have a view sorted by time instead of only by name - Similar to calendar view in outlook. The current format is very difficult to read because the hours are not in order.
Honestly please just make the shifts option in teams more similar to Outlook. I have to use both for my job and making them match is so difficult because of Teams. Staffhub was better.

Please add the ability to have rcurring shifts with recurring tasks across weeks and months.SHIFTS
The schedue view in planner needs the ability to add colours as its very diffcult to see what plans are scheduled.
Wouldnt it make sense to link a plan with a shift and have sub shifts for plans ?

Agreed - this would be very helpful!
