Allow setting a shift as recurring with beginning and end dates
Thank you for your feedback! We are hard at work improving the Shifts app experience including adding recurring shifts. In the meantime, we wanted to share some tips and tricks to help with some pain-points mentioned:
1) Make Edits to Your Schedule (Delete, Undo, Minor Copy Edits): Shifts works similarly to Excel in certain regards, so make sure to highlight shifts with your mouse and utilize keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V, Ctrl+Z) to copy, delete, or undo actions. We find it helpful doing this particularly in month view and week view.
2) Copy Button: Use the copy button on the top right to copy any timeframe you need for the entire schedule.
3) Search for Shifts in Creation Phase: When creating a shift, utilize the search command to find shifts that have already been created in the past.
We’ll keep you posted when we have more news!
I'd like to make a note about the COPY BUTTON. You cannot copy 'any timeframe you need for the entire schedule'. In fact, you must copy fewer than 90 days or it will fail.
We try to copy an entire year's worth of shifts for a Team, but it is not possible.
Either Shifts is no longer being developed or it feels like we're being ignored.
Most Shifts posts have not been commented on by admin in a year or more.
Shift notifications need to be included in the desktop and web apps. We are trying to implement shifts but it's hard to work with when it only notifies you on the mobile app. Seems like an easy fix but haven't had a response in 2 years.
Outlook integration is crucial as well. There needs to be more customization and more flexibility to make Shifts work the way we need it to.
Are we ever going to see the changes we ask for or should we start looking for an option that actual works the way we need it to?

Thank you for the helpful hits. But it is still more work then a recurring field. If one is added a custom field would be great, to choose, what day/s of the week or recur every week or 8 weeks.
This is a MUST ! Come on guys please , implement this ASAP. There are so many folks NOT using shifts because its missing this basic functionality !
Useless without recurrence.
And: please inform potential users at the very beginning of the description and in the help text that Shifts doesn't support recurrence. I've just wasted a bunch of time in finally figuring out that recurrence doesn't exist, really it doesn't (...me muttering to myself: "but of course, it must be here somewhere, maybe you click here, or here, or over here, what do the help files say....") I never would have bothered with Shifts if only you'd been courteous enough to tell me that each and every shift has to be set up individually.
Copy and paste, indeed.

Sorry, this really isn't a solution. Recurrence is one of the most basic functions of anything with a time slot...

Can someone provide an update on when recurring shifts will be implemented, please?
This suggestion was logged well over a year ago, and should be flagged as Priority instead of Try This Instead - without this basic functionality the Shifts app is unusable for the vast majority of the Teams user base.

Can someone from admin comment feel like the status of this request is stopping it moving forward. How is copying a work around. I have 8 staff that all rotate 6 different shifts so I have to manually copy and assign each of the shift for each day. I may as well stayed on excel
Hi, I work in a service where we have the same rolling 4 week shift pattern that will go on for ever...It will be so helpful to be able to set the length of a shift pattern and then have it recur for as long as we need. This is a very typical scenario in healthcare and social care.

This is so needed, particularly since copy&paste doesn't work across the currently viewed week/month boundaries.
The suggestion states on #3 to utilize the "search command" to find shifts that have already been created in the past.
How do I do this? if I use the "Search" bar that is in the purple ribbon above they grey Shifts area, it does NOT seem to search for my shift, rather for conversations in Chat. Is there a different Search area that I am not seeing? Or settings that I need to change for my Search bar?
Thanks in advance for the help!
This should always be a key functionality for this kind of applications IMHO.

This seems like a basic setting of the app. I'm kind of curious why it is on the backlog? Isn't MS Teams widely adopted by corporate companies with employees who are on set schedules (i.e. non-retail companies)? It seems like the target audience would be for companies with reoccurring schedules. But, I may be way off in my assessment of the demographic that uses Teams. Either way, we are an international engineering company (Worley) that uses Teams and most of our international clients use teams. Pretty much useless for tracking what a person's daily schedule is without setting up one day for each employee and copying it FOREVER to every day into the the future. We will just use it for a "Time Off" calendar for now. But looking forward to this feature for sure! Thanks!

Is there a timeline on when this will be implemented?

This feature would be very much appriciated! And also the ability to make the schedule to rotate as well, so that "Shift 1" is manned by "Person 1" during "Week 1", and then the next week "Shift 1" is manned by "Person 1" during "Week 2".
Well the copy button is not an option.
Every time I have tried to copy just one week's shifts, the job times out and never copies anything.

Looking forward to this being implemented so I can start to use the app within the business.
Would like this reoccurring, just like any other calendar....
