appear offline
I want to access Teams content while able to "appear offline"
This is a feature request regarding the presence capability versus other offline features that want to use Teams while disconnected.
This feature allows
People to do work at off hours without being interrupted.
People to look or retrieve content which has no concept of presence.
For those concerned about abuse of an appear offline feature and enabling presence liars, users can still lie and set any of the current presence states with the same intention.
I can be connected to the network and use Outlook, OneNote, SharePoint, etc. and do MY work without worrying about interruptions.

Appear offline is now available on Desktop/Web and iOS. It will be available later this month on Android. To learn more, please visit https://support.microsoft.com/office/change-your-status-in-teams-ce36ed14-6bc9-4775-a33e-6629ba4ff78e.

Will it be possible to disable this for our tenant?

This is great feature, however it would be even better if that could be selected for certain people or external contacts only for a certain period of time.

In Windows desktop version 1.3.00.26064 (64-bit), I have the "Appear away" option from the system tray icon as well. Good job!

Same here, it's available inside Teams, but not in the systray icon. Please add it there as well!

Great to have the feature available. But you forgot to put the new status to the systray icon as well.

Oh come on.... The team is 'working on it' ? You already have a status select system in place.

Can it be for a certain group of people? It would be useful for people like me who work with multiple clients and a specific day is for one and it is very disruptive for a co-worker to keep pinging me about the other client (with a whole set of VPNs to connect to!)

Offline feature is a must.

There are times when you just NEED to appear offline so you are not disturbed but still NEED to run teams for access to files, links, etc. Lync/Skype 4B included this feature (ok registry hack but...). With Teams including Team channels, links to files, links to other content, team channels, etc. the ability to "appear offline" is now more important than Lync/Skype days. Sooner rather than later, please.

Hi Alex,
We are able to find this option (Appear offline) for some users Teams client.
Same time few users don't have this option, we would like to know this option is added by Microsoft or this is in testing phase. As per below link only 5 option are given by MS, Appear offline option is not mentioned in the document.

I am eager for this option as well for the same reason - can't get any actual work done w/out people interrupting for a 'quick question' which is never quick and distracts from stuff I am trying to get done. Additionally, and maybe I missed it, but when I go to 'Do Not Disturb', since folks have no common courtesy, I am still getting interrupted. What is the point in having that option if it still allows people to bother you?
One last request is that the color shows different when marked as 'Busy' vs. 'In a meeting / In a call'.
thank you,
