expand conversations default option
Add USER setting to expand all by default.
There's an existing idea for Collapsing/expanding conversations where it looks like they're working on implementing an Admin setting for collapse/expand, and a collapse/expand all button.
However, many of the comments on that idea are asking for something different:
Give us a USER-configurable option (not just admins) for whether threads are shown expanded or collapsed.
I feel like I spend most of my time catching up in Teams clicking "N replies from ..." or "See more" and would much prefer for everything to be shown by (my user-configured) default.
Even if this option was just for the "See more" behavior it would be WAY easier to view updates. Especially for channels we use for daily management, almost every reply is half-hidden with a "See More" link. I just scrolled through today's daily check-in thread which meant clicking EIGHT expander links, with scrolling in between.
The current default behavior of collapsing conversations is ridiculous and just contributes to information being easily missed.

+1, I like expanded view by default far more. The hundred klicks on expand per day is wasted time ;-)

+1, Configurable number of lines would be a nice add.

+1, I mean I could have read the line if you didn't put up the 'See more'.

+1 "See more" would be a good compromise.
please disable auto collapse. we used slack in our department and it was replaced by teams as a company solution. the ms teams guys have a long way to go. - try to copy some of slacks features.
Just let us see posts in chronological order, in-line. Just give us an option to do this. Whether in a conversation, reply, whatever. Just give us an expand all by default. Let us un-thread.
Just let us be able to collaborate in this collaboration tool. That's all I ask.
Perhaps the setting could be for how many lines/pixels to show before "Show more...". Setting it to a large number would allow for "always expanded".

I also want this! Also, preferable the threaded conversation should be in a separate column to the right of the channel.

This would be so much better since I'm not even sure people get the threads that cover mutliple postings.

auto collapse is the WORST. My entire team has to click "See More" to see any post practically, and things get missed super easily.
Please make it possible to disable the auto-collapse. It's so annoying to have to click "See more" all the time.
Please add this very-much needed feature. :)

For me, the fact that this super obvious usability defect is still there... is a clear sign that Microsoft's own engineers aren't using the Team application... They would have seen this nonsense a long time ago and we wouldn't be here discussing about it.

Having to click "see more" on nearly every post gets very tedious and annoying. More importantly, information is not being shared because people neglect to expand the message and read the whole thing. Only showing 4 lines may work for quick messages to each other, but not for any technical communication.

Someway to make threads or comments easier to read like auto-expand would be a great addition but having a way to collapse it when needed.

A user configuration option to allow auto-expansion of comments would be great! I too spend a great deal of time clicking on 'N replies...'. Perhaps allow configuration of how far back in time the 'auto expand' would reach to avoid expanding every post on a very active channel.
