expand conversations default option
Add USER setting to expand all by default.
There's an existing idea for Collapsing/expanding conversations where it looks like they're working on implementing an Admin setting for collapse/expand, and a collapse/expand all button.
However, many of the comments on that idea are asking for something different:
Give us a USER-configurable option (not just admins) for whether threads are shown expanded or collapsed.
I feel like I spend most of my time catching up in Teams clicking "N replies from ..." or "See more" and would much prefer for everything to be shown by (my user-configured) default.
Even if this option was just for the "See more" behavior it would be WAY easier to view updates. Especially for channels we use for daily management, almost every reply is half-hidden with a "See More" link. I just scrolled through today's daily check-in thread which meant clicking EIGHT expander links, with scrolling in between.
Terrible. Leave the **** posts expanded all the time. Just ridiculous searching for things. Urh!^%$%^$
Perhaps Microsoft doesn't realise that the "see more/see less" text is very small, and hence can be missed by users. It makes the interface frustrating every day to hunt arond for what someone says is there but you cannot find.
People are using many tools at work. Most of us are not sitting here chatting and reading every message like a text stream with ther buddy while on a train home.
This is very basic functionality, and fankly, the absence of it is discriminatory against people without perfect vision....which is far more people than many realise.

How is this not already an option or default?!? I've just had to start using Teams and already can't stand the chat function because the majority of text is not visible forcing you to hunt and peck through every reply to find text/images that should be instantly recognizable .

Can we get an update on this?????
Expand conversations always option. I agree, as I ask someone if they could do something, and they tell me to look above. I don't see it because the conversation is not expanded.
Please add this "Always expanded"

No custom view options for users, is a deal breaker. Every message sent to my team has to be expanded for basic information to be shown. An extra click for every single message is madness. There is no reason this can't be a local only setting.
This is basic windows experience.
This is basic functionality! Messages collapsed by default causes for many users to miss important information. Wihtout it usability suffers a lot.
I would welcome such an option for users
definitelly whole teams UI is broken , it's feels like raped email client force to work with with messaging , why not make it whole customizable for users , navigating with key shortcuts without need of mouse or any pointing device
Dear MS. This isn't an email thread.
Stop messing up the chronological order of messages and hiding messages
Dear 'MS Teams' team, please implement the conversation expansion in a user configurable way (expand all / collapse all) as well as 'see more' option always on or off, as soon as possible, this is really impeding usability on a daily basis. Thank you.
so annoying, this is basic functionality and wastes so much time for users
This is a critical option that should have been implemented from day one... Whats the hold up MS ?????
Yes, please. At least with email, I could skim a message and get all the information. With Teams, i feel like i have to pick around and explore to get the whole story. Half of the information in the chat is hidden and gets missed. Not efficient communication. Is this the new workplace?
expand the fu..

Please add this. If there's been a lot of activity on a channel while you're away, it can be easy to miss replies when you skim through the channel.
Agreed - I just started using teams and its nothing like SLACK - and I waste tons of time click on "see more"
PLEASE! At least add the expand all feature!
At least let us select a conversation and click an expand all in this conversation type of button.
