I'm trying to set up a skills matrix for a team. I can't access the team members list directly, so I tried creating a contacts list in the associated SharePoint site, synch'd with my copy Outlook 2016, to which I was going to add columns for the various skills we want to track. Sadly, when I try to create a tab for this contacts list / skills matrix in the desktop Teams app, it doesn't recognise the list and won't connect to it.

So why isn't this added yet? it's been requested since Skype for business was still working. The fact that skype for business had this feature and it was removed on Teams. Forcing everyone to use Teams that removes features from the last usable software is unacceptable. This is getting ridiculous. I am getting pretty tired of how microsoft is running their services. I may have to reevaluate using office 365 and changing our whole company to a different platform.

Can't believe this isn't already built-in. What a farce.

This is a huge problem for companies considering Teams Voice. Teams does not support extensions and if you can't look up phone numbers of people on different phone systems, there is no way for a larger company to migrate to Teams Voice without a lot of user pain.

I want to share a list of contacts of any kind (clients, distributors, partners, ...) with my colleagues so we don't have to create it manually multiple times.

Is there any update on the ability to share a contact list within my Team?
We have a just bought a new phone system which incorporates Microsoft Teams for each of our colleges and would like all 'team' contacts visible for everyone. Thanks

I have 200+ site phone numbers that are not associated to an e-mail enabled user so having the capability to create and share a contact list within TEAMS would be a huge win instead of having to work on spreadsheets.

Please add this as soon as possible. It seems like a no-brainer. Most of our staff won't have the time, or desire, to create their own list and keep it updated. This seems like yet another what the heck is Microsoft thinking item.

TEAMS is currently looking at a default contact list in Outlook as it populates the Calls->Contacts option when you have a phone system connected. Being able to specify the contact list to show seems like a small change. It looks like Microsoft has hard-coded the reference to the user's personal contact list in that Calls->Contacts option so would it really be that difficult to expose a setting to allow the user to pick the contact list they want to use in place of the hard-code? It is already possible to share an Outlook contact list corporately, so by being able to pick a shared contact list, the problem would be solved ... at least for us.

Yes, let us use email enabled universal security groups for this instead of dynamic groups. We used these in Skype all the time. Also allow our users to also create local contact groups for their own uses.

This is needed. Any updates from Microsoft ??? is this being worked on? when will it be rolled out to all ?
I can hear my Boss saying "can you set a company contact group in Teams for everyone"

Yes, this is needed and would be nice if we could use regular universal mail enabled secuirty groups instead of the dynamic groups in Azure AD

Still need the ability to deploy contact groups in Teams. The first question all my users ask me is will everyone show up in Teams. And I have to tell them they have to add them manually. As an admin I need to be able to do this for my users. This is keeping them from adopting Teams.
