Need PHONE SYSTEM licenses from Office 365 Business licenses (not just Enterprise)!
Currently MS Teams can only add phone functionality at the Enterprise level. O365 prevents users at the Office 365 Business Premium from accessing phone services. Changing from Business Premium to E3 is an extra $7.50/mo plus phone access at $8/mo plus the actual domestic subscription! A personal Skype Pro number only costs $6.50 per month!
Can't believe this isn't a feature of Business Essentials, why wouldn't you want to get small companies paying you for voice as well?
Please add it!
I have E1 licenses but nowhere can I find the Phone system add-on to this to activate services. Any ideas?I am in the admin portal for Office 365 and upgraded to Office 365 E1 Plan. Thx in advance

Absolutely ridiculous, if they want teams to really work, you need to be able to call out to external phones like skype.
Ignoring the massive SMB market again shows USA concentric thinking and not looking at EU and ASEAN countries.
To me, this is not even a technical issue, it is some idiot product manager/accountant thinking they can get people to ship to E3 from business premium, which is not going to happen
@Eugene Beran, re your quote from the linked page
If you decide to buy an Enterprise E5 license, it includes a Phone System license. If you use an Enterprise E1 or E3 license or an Office 365 Business Essentials or Office 365 Business Premium licsense you will need to buy the Phone System add-on."
The above linked page has since been updated and now reads
"If you decide to buy an Enterprise E5 license, it includes a Phone System license. If you use an Enterprise E1 or E3 license you will need to buy the Phone System add-on."
Effectively, it looks like Phone System isn't an available add-on for Business Premium or Essentials.
Audio conferencing is allowed for Business Premium. Not all of MS documents have been updated.
It looks like Phone System for Business Premium and Business Essentials is coming.

GSuite/Zoom gives you a free dialin number..this seems restrictive and unnecessarily expensive
I am amazed that on 78 votes have been made for this one!

It does seem to be coming per the attachment but I’m yet to find anyone at Microsoft that knows anything about it.

There is no requirement of phone system licenses at https://callhippo.com/enterprise-level-hosted-phone-system]CallHippo. You can easily use CallHippo's services in less than 3 minutes.
I was able to add an Audio Conference license to my Business Premium account and it is working successfully.
I found a work around just buy one e1 license then stock up on extra phone system licenses ;)
Hey, this is a great idea. We would like this to be available in O365 Business.
By blocking phone and conference dial in for Business plans you are completely walking away from the SMB marketing. Why?
