Show notes and next slide when presenting a PowerPoint
While you can present a PowerPoint in a Teams meeting it is still not as functional as in Skype for Business.
If I present a PowerPoint I want to be able to see my presenter notes and a preview of the next slide and a clock. Skype for Business does this.
We are trying to replace Skype with Teams as much as possible but this is a use case where Teams falls short.
Great news! The ability to see PowerPoint slide notes and thumbnails is available to the public. Right now, this can be shown/hidden by using a keyboard shortcut. Click in the slide area, and press “Ctrl Shift X”, to show or hide the notes and thumbnail strip.
We are working on the ask to turn this feature on & off. Please see https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103/suggestions/42654730 – this is coming soon!

The lack of ability for me as a teacher to move straight to the slide of my choice has proven to present me as slightly Luddite in my approach to the Technology. It would be great if in team you do not have to clunk through each painstaking slide after another, made worse if it’s slide 245 of 403 slides. Gulp indeed.
Can you generate a box next to the carrots so scrolling through the slides is achievable.
2. The toggle between students watching a video on a shared platform and returning to find a missing presentation which see me (teacher) resourcing it again (the bored child is truly distracted now) and then click, click, click... ( the bored child is weeping in the corner) you get the message but it’s not how I teach and it means I have taken to playing music whilst I click, click, click ( bored child’s ears ****** up and lo I am on slide 54) click, click, click.....
I saw a YouTube video were the slides were in the shared tray below the presentation but I have not been able to achieve this through local or web based teams. Is this a fantasy video as I am a teacher and at the moment I would rather eat raw onions than do battle with this.
Why oh why is this being shared as a feature but it’s not available? Please make it live.
No way to (re)start a presentation at any given point. You need to click slide by slide. By clicking on numbers you should be able to enter a number just like in all other file readers
I can only but join the other comments. In research, when using focus groups as a method, or when giving a webinar, it is already quite hard to have dynamic interactions, and it is worse when there is a presentation projected (people don't see each other much). It would be very useful to have a "hide" or a "jump to slide X" to be able to have as much cameras as possible when discussing, and then switching back to the PPT presentation when providing specific information with that tool.
I'd like the presenter view to be integrated with MS Teams.
When I chose to share a specific Powerpont - from the share menu - I'd like to be able to choose to see the presented slides only, or the presenter view (shown only to me, whilst everyone else just see the presentation).
Need ability to be showing a presentation in full screen to attendees while seeing notes pages on my own screen. It's possible with two screens, but would be extremely beneficial when only using one screen.
Blackboard collaborate is able to do this task, and so can zoom. Let's get it going, Microsoft!! It's a must for a professional experience.
Very important! This would make a big difference to give a professional meeting experience.
In Skype for Business we had the minatures preview as host. that allowed us to jump to whatever slide in the presentation we needed to. An alternative is to show the host a preview of the slides headers in a list format, which we have in other applications.
Ability to view presenter notes when sharing a powerpoint

This is our request as well! It is so frustrating to switch to sharing a screen, and then re-share a powerpoint deck and have to manually scroll forward across dozens of slides to get back to where we were in the deck. Please add this functionality!
I switch between PowerPoint to review progress and sharing my desktop during teaching. I've now found a workaround and added hyperlinks on the title slide to the slides I need later on, so that I can resume the presentation and jump to a specific slide, but I'd rather have the flexibility to choose any slide at any time.

Yes, everything these colleagues have said is absolutely true. We need a way of advancing to a specific slide in a presentation without having to go through each slide to get there. Yes, when transitioning from displaying the presentation to screen sharing a web page, it would be great not to have to start at slide one when I return again to the presentation.

I'm using Teams to remote teaching, and is a nightmare that i have to click for every slide until i get to the slide i'm reaching for.

In other words, provide us the same functionality that we had when we would Upload & Present a PowerPoint file in Skype for Business.

This is indeed a UX nightmare for remote teaching. At this point I'm considering screen sharing and using another tool locally on my PC to show the slides. We give courses that span several days, our presentations can have more than 300 slides.
Clicking 200 times to go back to where you were before someone shared their screen gets old very quickly.

We're using teams in the classroom, and we sometimes show more than 100 slides for a single meeting.
This is a nightmare.
As PowerPoint for the web does have a "go to slide" option, PLEASE add a "go to slide" button on the slide controller.
Microsoft Teams Meetings should have a "presentation mode" that, when enabled, mutes all users except those that have been granted permission by the Meeting Host to speak. This feature would allow users to make presentations without audio interruption or distraction from other users. When the designated user(s) complete their presentation, the Meeting Host can disable the mode and allow the entire audience to speak again (e.g. for audience feedback or group discussion purposes).

At the moment the slides can only move forward or backward sequentially. Many times I need to jump to specific slide during the meeting.
Currently if I need to jump to specific slide, the only way I can do is go forward or backward one by one, which is cumbersome.
The other case is if during middle of presentation I am switching to other participant slides, after switching back to my slides the presentation restarts at slide no. 1, then I have to advance the slide one by one to get to my current slide. It would be nice if I can jump straight to my current slide.
Option to show slide deck like with the Skype for Business client will be really great for better online presenting.
Toggle an "invisible" window for notes that presenters can have up while screensharing. It would minimize your sharing window to split screen/open window for your own notes while presenting.
