Team Dashboard / Landing Page
When you click on a Team, it would be nice if you got a dashboard for the team / landing page instead of going directly to the "general" channel.
This would be a great place to roll-up information for activity in the team:
- recent conversations (from all channels within the team)
- recent or all documents (similar to the OneDrive landing page, but scoped to the Team
- membership list
- pinned content
- static content (to post general team information)
Yes, I concur. This would make teams much more useful. We end up with MANY different teams, and it becomes time consuming to figure out where things stand with each project or group.

It will be a great start if we can just put one of the other tabs first and customize it for each channel. currently, you can only order all tabs except for Post and Files. Alternatively, you can add a fixed tab as the first one you can control if it is shown or not and connect it either to a SharePoint page.

The same as the Sharepoint site concept

This is absolutely needed. It should be an "easy-to-edit" landing page (not restricted and slow like SharePoint pages).
Perhaps even just a small customizable space at the top 1/3 of the general channel page for a team description and maybe some quick links. This would eliminate the need for too many "tabs".

A landing page would be nice and the ability to move the tabs around to prioritize them or sort for different types of Teams sites.
Also a web app that would allow you to build a simple web site inside the Team with the ability to write content and descriptions about links to documents in the Files area and to open them directly inside the Team site (OneNote is very ugly in this regard).
A way to remove the unappealing and unused (not to say "useless") general channel/tab would be great! At least a way to move that tab to the right, and make the landing tab custom!

Interested to follow this thread, we too need to create a main landing page for a channel, repeatable and customisable after.

I would love MS Team to consolidate information and this would help us scan and focus.

Yes, a customizable, default landing page is needed

A dashboard would be nice - yes - but just a simple landing page would be a great way to start.
- One piece of custom graphics/bacgground
- Team description
- A field with additional text
- A field with Team activity summary (like "6 members, 7 new files this week, last activity on …".
I agree a proper Dashboard would also be nice, but simetimes you need to start small in order to actually get the ball rolling. Therefore my suggestion to the dev team is: Start with a simple landing page. That should be something you can make in a single sprint, whereas a Dashboard with 3rd party content and stuff requires much more implementation time.

The ability to pull in third-party app info as well. The ability to build dashboards within the landing page so you can see or pull in any content within teams. Be able to change the size of the dashboards as well.

This would be nice if you are able to pin channels to dashboard to view in one window the latest massages without jumping betweeen channels and teams even the activity window already shows the newest messages. In dashboard view: Team - Channel - Message
And the langing page (the most used channel on the selected team) would help new prople to use Teams.
Very important! Dashboard should be personalized (e.g. with planner tasks, last chats, etc.)
