Lets make contacts great again!
Can we please have an awesome next-level contacts interface and management!? Pretty sure we were promised cool stuff in SfB that never came :(
While contacts management might seem like a pretty boring feature (because it is), its one of the most pivotal parts of the app. The whole point of the app is to communicate. So if you can't find or interact with contact information easily, it can be very frustrating!!!
The first thing that needs to be resolved is the fact that the "Calls" tab is the central location for contacts. That doesn't see right or make sense to me. Lets go back to the good old days of SfB and have a contacts tab. From here we can initial any kind of communication.
Probably even before doing that, we need to get the inconsistency between the A-Z search vs the contact list. We desperately need to be able to view all listed number types, in particular mobile from ANYWHERE. The interface often displays a mobile (or other) number as default for some reason, then when you click it it just does a Teams call - annoying and confusing for users.
Lets also make all displayed phone numbers click-to-call'able.
Can we also ensure that external contacts (and all contacts in general can have rich information added to them e.g. any number types, email, notes/actions. It would also be great to see a view of call history including voice mails.
Something that would also be very clever (for Outlook too), is if you surfaced phone numbers from peoples signatures. How many times do you have to search and search to find someones signature so you can get there phone number! That would be clever :)
A compact view of contacts would be good too. The card style contacts take up a lot of space currently.
Reverse number look up against all contacts is also a must.
Put search everywhere. The dial pad text area should also support in-line search not just phone numbers.
I'm sure others have some good ideas too.
Lets make contacts great again ;)

The work DID number appears in the Teams contact card but isn't a hyperlink. Seems like a quick and dirty work around would be to at least make the phone number a tel: hyperlink.

If you are confused, talk to the Microsoft Skype team. We need basic calling and contact features.

Teams is basically broken if you can't use it to find someone mobile number, the workaround I'm having to use is very inefficient.... having to start a new email and then bring up the contact card for the user in Outlook to find their mobile number now after switching to teams.
Just about to switch all our users over but not sure this is a good idea, considering how painful I find it myself.
Seems like a no brainer for mobile to be easily accessible in teams.

Holding us back from upgrading...
Is their and ETA on this? It's unbelievable, TEAMS is about collaboration and connecting with people, how are you meant to do that if you don't have all the required contact details!!!
Functionally and feature-wise I did not like Jabber, but at least Cisco had to foresight to show all contact info!!!

Not sure how they can say feature parity with SFB, when you can't select different numbers for a contact when the numbers exist in the system. You could do this is SFB. Also the contacts default to mobile phone number and there is no way to change it.
Yes please, we need urgently a much better interface for contacts.. we mooved to teams and are really not happy about it
We are keen to move to Teams from SfB, but at the moment, things like this make us worried about the user base backlash as it's a step backwards.
This is a basic requirement that should have been in at the start. Not being able to dial a different number from Within teams for a contact without having to go round the houses is poor. Skype for business has this option and I thought Teams was supposed to include all of Skype's features! It can't be that hard to offer a sub menu to dial a different number for a contact when in the chat view etc.

need more details on contact card, otherwise We're back to using outlook.
Please can you include the ability to dial all phone numbers against a contact - this functionality has massively regressed.
I still can't see a contacts list on my Teams-Certified desk phone. Just call history. Literally an unworkable replacement for SfB and 3PIP phones. And our clients are being pushed to transition.
Just like Microsoft to FORCE their **** software on everyone. No means NO Microsoft. Bring back SfB!
Come on. We miss the skype feature of selecting which number teams or mobile to transfer a call to. This means we either have to create two contacts for one person or they need to have Teams open on their mobiles & have a data connection.
Simple feature used frequently in SfB
Works for me.

Feature still not available - why would you want to downgrade to Teams from Skype. Chop chop MS.

As a systems trainer - The ease of finding and calling (and messaging, and emailing, and video calling) contacts in Skype for Business was one of it's selling points to the people I train. Search by first name, by last name, by department, by location... all good!
And then came Teams - with its "we'll take all that good stuff and get rid of it" attitude, making a communication tool not really that useful for communicating. Please consider your actions MS - this is going to become the IE of messaging...
Still not available - come on MS what are you doing?

Call me has to remember your number.. or Teams will never compete effectively against Webex

Add "Start a group chat from a contact group." If you've added people to the contact group since the last chat, you would get prompted to share the chat history with the newly added people.
