No Chat Notifications When Meeting is Declined in Outlook
- I get a Teams meeting invite in Outlook.
- I decline the invite.
- If someone in that meeting posts in Chat, then I get a notification from a meeting I declined! I have to go to Teams and leave the meeting.
Additional Info: My meeting invite is through a group list.

I would rather there be an option to mute or remove it from chat. My reason for declining a meeting may be because I'm going to be out of the office or be due to a conflict, but I may still need or want to watch the recording and see the chat that happened.
I don't want declining a meeting notice to automatically remove it from Teams chat.

This must be fix, it is creating too many issues.

This is negatively affecting our organization as well. Why has this been an issue since 2018 with no apparent response from MS?

Another knock on effect is that even if you remove someone from a meeting they can continue to see the messages in the meeting. Big security and privacy issue I would say.

I work at a large organization and am frequently included in meeting invitations that I do not attend. Having to constantly mute chats for discussions I've declined is an annoyance. Please resolve this as soon as possible.

Adding this function would solve a HUGE amount of pain, confusion and ill feeling towards MS Teams in my Government Department. We have many meetings with large invite lists that are optional and this function would show that MS understood this real world way of doing business. Please urgently add this to the development list.

Please FIX THIS!!! My company is in different timezones and I don't want to be waken up by this bad UX! I need to respond only to emergency... Teams is such a pain of a tool....

P.S. We checked the settings, and even when it is set to "mute chat until I join the meeting or send a message" it does not resolve this.

This sucks, and happens when people are invited individually as well. In this case they were optional invitees on the Outlook invite

I just checked this and as long as the user has the user notification setting set to "Mute until I join or send a message", under the general Teams settings area, it will not get notification regardless if the invitee accepted or decline the meeting.
My organization found this annoying, but seems they addressed this on a release back in December. Not sure why this keeps happening to others.

MS - This is really annoying, why am I being forcefully dragged into Meeting conversation which I declined at first place? I did a quick test and noticed it does not matter I accept/decline/chose not to act I am still being dragged into Meeting conversation. I have to "Leave" the conversation and then hide it.

For the love of all that is sacred, please fix this. I declined three meetings this morning, all at the same time. Each had many attendees. I kept getting pop-ups for every chat/comment was made! It was impossible to work with all of the intrusive pop-ups! If I wanted to participate in the conversation for a meeting, I would have accepted the meeting invite!

Bumping this topic, same problem in my organization. Does anyone know of other threads that might have a workaround? Chad said it was actively being worked, can you post the ticket # perhaps so I can forward to my IT guys for tracking?
