In the "Teams" channels, we have a group of 4 main people. We often get multiple conversations going at the same time. One person habitually doesn't respond, and I forget I had an outstanding question until the bug comes back to *******. It would be helpful if individual chat threads within channels had a status, with a simple list of options like: "Open" and "Closed". Maybe another one like "Waiting on response from @personname". Then to build on that, it would be helpful to better arrange all the open conversation topics, kind of like a project management system, which Teams is not, but my company is trying to stretch Teams' use too far for project conversations, and even as an email replacement, which Teams is insufficient for due to lack of ability to organize chats.
