Implement the ability to assign static meeting IDs
Implement the ability to assign static meeting IDs to users
This feature is planned and we’ll update as we know more details.
Regarding recurring meeting invites, the meeting link is unique so you can use the same meeting link for all instances.
In addition to static meeting IDs for users and scheduled meetings, I would also like to see static IDs associated with channel "meet now" meetings. I use this for some recurring meetings with people who only dial in, and it is challenging if I have to periodically discover that the ID has changed.

Hi Alex (Teams Engineering, Microsoft Teams), do you have an update on when this feature is to be launched?
Being able to assign and reuse a meeting ID is critical to me. I have two standup meetings that run back-to-back for related teams. There are 5 people required to attend both. In zoom I just create one call and assign the same ID to both calendar events. Then the people who need to be part of both discussions can just stay online while the others show up only for the first or second half as necessary.
Having everyone hang up just to dial into a new call every morning is extremely aggravating. Being able to use the same call ID for both meetings would solve the problem. (They can't be the same meeting because some people only need to attend one, so I need to be able to assign different attendees).

There is a relatively easy work around that should(?) work for most people that need this function "NOW".
Create a recurring Teams meeting that happens once per year. For example:
Meeting on Dec 31st @ 23:45pm, 15 minute duration.
Recurrence: Every year.
End Date: None
Send the meeting to (1) attendee. Could be anyone!...Your personal email account or a coworker that knows what you're doing.
That meeting is now officially created in the system and can be joined at any time (as is the case with all meetings).
Now you simply copy the meeting URL & any other pertinent info and use it in any communications that you need.
There's your static meeting.

Our organization would find this feature very helpful. I look forward to when it becomes available!
Just want to confirm that the option to select a Unique & Static Meeting ID Link for a meeting series, also would include the ability to use the same Unique & Static Meeting ID Link in these 2 scenarios: (1.) All day bridge series meetings (like Incident-related calls) as well as, (2.) Meetings series held at same times throughout the day (examples would be 8 AM, Noon, 4 PM "TouchPoint/Check-in" meetings for launches and ongoing projects. Benefits: All communication re: the Topic/Issue/Launch stays in the Teams Chat (site/channel) and is viewable across Time Zones - becomes the One Source of Truth "go to" place for the project. Drives users to Teams vs Email/Outlook for updates. ASK: Can you please confirm? Thank you!!!
We literally have tens of thousands of users that need a static conference ID since they dial in from retail locations on a desk phone to hear what's being said. If that conference id changes - we have no way to get them the new one every time it changes. Its why we are stuck with Webex. We'd much rather have Teams meetings with a static join ability.

Is there an update?

If it is planned, can the plan be shared or an ETA provided, so we have something to tell our customer base who is growing impatient without this capability?
This capability is keeping us from moving to Teams. We would like to cancel Zoom but can't do so without this. What is the update?

Any updates on this!!??

This is one of the major features holding us up from moving to teams for conferencing.

Static Meeting ID would be great or at least one that doesnt expire ( for long term reoccurring meetings ). What is the actual expiration date of a conference ID when created?

Just wanted to confirm that IF this feature is implemented and users dial into to an MS Teams meeting, they will be able to use the same conference id each time for different meetings from that user? Is that correct? If so, that's great because it's exactly what we need.
Our AEs currently use MS Teams with an online calendar/scheduling app and the ability to provide the same conference ID to all users who book online is critical for us. Thanks!

While I would like this feature, I would hardly call it critical. Pressing the join button from the Teams app on your phone is far easier than typing in a meeting ID, even if it is always the same meeting ID..
Hi this is a big complaint, especially from executive admins that set up meetings for their bosses. Is there an update?
It would be great to have a personal static conference ID and for standard scheduled meetings the system generates a dynamic conference ID. The advantage is that users can spontan use the personal ID for conference calls or something like this and for the standard planned meetings you have the normal process via the calendar. Other very know Meeting providers use this concept and this is really perfect for every case you need in daily business.
Any update on this pls?
