Hide "Open in Sharepoint" option in files menu
My company would like to restrict the "Open in Sharepoint" option in the files menu for certain teams/channels. The ability to hide this feature would be great.
I'd be very interested to know if MS has planed any update on this?
I would this option or ability to customize Teams too. I manage a site collection linking to Teams from sites. When users open Teams in SharePoint, they think they are in the site of the site collection but it is a different, Teams associated SharePoint. This is very confusing for users. The ability to hide that button would solve this.

This needs to go!!! It causes all sort of backend problems when team members open in SharePoint and are unclear of what they are doing.
We would like to have the option to hide this feature as well.

I am looking for this option too
Can I get an AMEN?
Please - option this and the 'add cloud storage' for administrators to hide if needed
Same here - users should not explore and use the 'Backend' SP 'vanilla' site!!
This would be great! Might help assist in solving some of the confusion for users thinking Teams is SharePoint when SharePoint is just used as the container for the Teams content...
Agreed. Its actually a good way to limit file access to Guests. Meaning I only want guests to be able to access the files that are "visible" on Teams (Channels), but by clicking on "Open in Sharepoint" they can navigate to all "private" files. Until Microsoft figures out Guest sharing, this would be a good solution.
I've had this requirement as well
