During the Team Tuesdays meetings, I cannot see the Chat icon
During the Team Tuesdays meetings, I cannot see the Chat icon on the top right of the Teams screen (see photo). This means that I cannot see any Chats, nor can I see anything the Presenter posts to the Chat (e.g., a link to further details on the Topic she's discussing).
I'm using Office 365 Teams - paid version.

Same problem here, I was the meeting organiser and lost chat capability in a meeting with 20 people attending. It was pretty embarrassing. I had no way of answering questions there.

chat box simply not there in a group training meeting of 29 people, so I missed all of the content provided in the chat. I also joined using my phone (my laptop and phone MS teams are synced) and clicked on the hand, then the chat box showed up on my computer (which was not there for the 1st 35 minutes)

We've had this mentioned a lot in the last week now that we're using Teams for remote learning. Unfortunately like others have said there doesn't seem to be a common denominator.
To confirm, our Teams/Classes are no more than 30 participants. The same lesson where students don't see the chat can work fine the next time. Sometimes it's just one student, sometimes all. I've even had one where the Teacher had it missing.
We use SIMS as our MIS and the SDS Sync to create our classes.
I just have to keep asking them to go out and back in and/or try another device if they have one etc.

Merci
Votre version de Microsoft Teams est 1.3.00.30866 (32 bits) . Dernière mise à jour le 23/11/2020.

We support a number of schools and have had this problem with Class Teams involving a maximum of 30-35 participants and it has meant that some pupils have been unable to take part in lessons which is unacceptable. We've checked pupils policies, team membership, platform, browser and app and there is no consistency. Please can you investigate this issue and update.

Experienced the same issue today in a meeting with approximately 40 attendees, but over 200 invited to the recurring teams meeting. Not sure how to allow chat to exchange info, as there will always be over 200 invited, with under 50 in attendance at an individual meeting. Will explore a team channel to permit a chat, but need to restrict who can add, edit, and delete content on the channel.

I am experiencing the same. There are times that teams is not working properly within the day where i am stuck (pls see attached file). I am unable to join meetings unless invited. I tried restarting my phone and also reinstalling teams however, i am getting stuck as well (pls see attached file for the signing in screenshot). What could possible be the reason behind this and what do i need to do?

We are experiencing the same issues. Regardless of meeting size, regardless of meeting participants (internal only, internal external), regardless of the outlook teams invite, teams calendar invite etc. ...no commonality can be found. The suggestion to leave and rejoin does NOT work consistently. Any advise would be of assistance.

This is an issue with us as well. Teams chat needs to be available for all 250 attendees and not just the first 100.

Teachers in my organisation have also found that many students cannot access/see chat in Teams Meetings even though they have all joined the meeting the same way. These sessions all have under 50 participants easily.
Any advice would be appreciated! -

Same in Vancouver. Intermittent and often cascading - happens to one and then others are affected. We have guests, external, internal, Mac, Windows, iPad, iPhone, Android - I can't find any consistency or reproducability in the problem. The chat just disappears or it stays active.

Have there been any solutions yet offered by Microsoft?

Yup, we are seeing this issue too. I'm not 100% sure it's related to the 100 user limit on group chat though as:
a) There are reports of this happening in meetings of less than 100.
b) I joined a meeting today quite late and there were already 220 on it but I could see the chat button and use the functionality. -

Group chat in teams only supports 100 user, even though a meeting supports 250 attendees. I have no idea why MS didn’t line those two limits up.
