Open chat window to newest message
Can you make a feature in the settings to have the chat window automatically switch to the newest IM I received?
When I finish chatting with a contact, I close the Teams window. If I get a new message later on from a different contact, I get the pop up banner, and then the Teams window opens in the task bar and flashes that I have a new message... the problem is that it displays the name of the person I was chatting with previously, not the name of the person who just sent me a new message, and when I open the window it's still on the chat from the previous contact, it doesn't automatically switch to the newest message I just received. If this is not possible, can you make a feature to highlight the name of the contact in the contacts list that just sent me a message? Just making their name bold isn't quite conspicuous enough.

The result of this behavior for me is that I frequently end up chatting with the wrong person.
This seems to be true of other tools - for example, when word calls for my attention, I see the latest doc rather than the one calling.

Make this behavior an option.

When there's many new messages in chat and I open it it doesn't position to first new message but it scrolls to the end of the chat which makes me need to scroll up to find what was the last thing I read.
It would be better to position every chat window to first unread message to prevent scrolling and confusion.
I had the same issue in Skype for Business for a while.
I think it was related to have multiple monitors and making Teams 'full height' on 1 monitor, and it got the relative placement on the UI components just slightly wrong.
May also be because I have the taskbar on the left on one, but at the bottom on the other.
When I view my private chat I have had/am having with someone, it is, albeit slowing, continuing to scroll up until I am unable to see the chat I just added/sent/typed. I can't seem to find a way to make it stop.
Is anyone else experiencing this? If yes, I would call it a bug even if it was meant to be a feature, I find it quite annoying.
This has started happening for me as well. Windows 10, message will show in activity feed, if I'm tagged (or in the convo) - but NOT in main chat in channel. It is an issue with the desktop app, the mobile app updates channel feed correctly. Desktop App version 1.1.00.18052 (64-bit)
message did not show up in chat window but displayed in the left panel on windows client
When new messages arrive in an opened chat, the chat window should scroll down to reveal the new messages automatically until focus is regained in the chat.
