Prevent users from joining a meeting
Add a setting to prevent users who are not a member of the Team/O365 Group from joining the Teams meeting. This setting should exist in the Outlook client as well as the Teams client, web app, and mobile app.
Similarly, prevent people who were not invited directly by the meeting organizer from joining the meeting. (e.g., meeting invite was forwarded or meeting link was copied and sent to user who was not directly invited).

This is essentially internal Teams Bombing - need a way to force anyone not specifically invited into a lobby - a private meeting basically
We have this very same problem in our organisation where people from our ORG join meetings they haven't been invited to, just because they know that that'll find a person in that meeting which they would like to talk to.

We have this problem where students are joining past meetings to chat. We would like to be able to only the organiser to be able start and able to end the meeting so students can't join it after the meeting is ended.

I'm honestly astonished that this has not already been addressed. This seems like such a basic function to have been overlooked. Microsoft, we really need the ability to manage who attends our meetings, beyond the limited lobby functions.

what happened to this idea ?
We had this issue just today where someone joined a management meeting because someone forwarded them a calendar appointment as an FYI. Hard to get my staff to trust the software if anybody can jump into a meeting if they have a link...should be able to limit it to invited attendees only!

Agreed, experienced it today that person quit from meeting rejoined the meeting without anyone in the room acknowledged his present. Luckily, the current topic he overheard is not a private or classified one. He is not a team member but was called in for discussion of some topic and was removed but somehow he was rejoined. It's very serious to have a feature to block or prevent rejoined without approval especially person who is removed from the meeting.
We need this for securing a meeting which only the organizer controls
This may be users Outside the O365 Tenant also

I agree this is a must to address recent security concerns with other apps like zoom. Many people have reached out to me on how lock down meetings on who can and cannot join. Please implement this yesterday!

i fully agree, we need this too. It's a security issue! Imaging, you have a board of directors meeting held in teams, members talk about things a normal employee should not hear -> how can we protect these sensitiv information?
We need to prevent people -who has the meeting link but not invited- joining the Teams meeting.
At least there should be an option as "people in my team/channel" in "Who can bypass the lobby ?" section.
Meeting hosts should have the option of creating and hosting a meeting that only includes specifed and authenticated users from their tenant.
Fully agree. Moderator code would be useful.
This shouldn't be a suggestion as its a major security risk. See all the stuff happening with Zoom right now this is the kind of thing that causes it.

Analyze how to create private meetings in Teams, ensuring that, even if a user who was not invited to the meeting received the link, he / she is unable to enter it.
It would also be useful to be able to prevent users from rejoining a meeting, if their presence is required only for a part of the agenda. For example enable the meeting organizer to enforce Lobby even for internal users would solve a lot.
