Permanently delete a channel
Allow for the permanent deletion of channels.

I literally cannot understand why this is a thing. Why can we not permanently delete channels, it is such a basic feature. Every day I find more and more simple (and I mean SIMPLE) functionnalities that do not exist in Microsoft TEAMS, and I have no idea why that is. I mean, this idea was suggested in 2018...come on guys...
I am usually the last person to complain so openly, but this is just...annoying. Private channels are there for no reason (seeing that members of private channels have access to everything within the team), we cannot pin messages in the chat, we cannot delete channels. By all means I am no IT specialist, so I do not actually know how long it takes to add different features, but the option to permanently delete channels does not seem like the most complicated thing to do (please, correct me if I am wrong). I know this is complaining, but I get so frustrated when BASIC features are not there after YEARS of development. TEAMS is not something that came out a month ago...
I tried deleting a channel and reusing that name, it doesn't work because that channel is still there under deleted in manage Team.
Now I'm stuck and can't do anything because I need to use that channel name. You all should fix this.

Make it available so that Teams owner can effectively manage content within that Team.

This is even more important after adding the feature of private channels. If one wants to change the privacy of a channel, the channel has to be deleted and a new one created - with the same name, preferably, which is currently not possible.

How could this not be possible? Maybe don't allow it for users, but admins should be able to do this. If there is some limitation, please tell us why.

The channel number limit is a serious barrier to functional use of Teams, as is deleting channels, but not being able to create new ones from the deleted space.

We were going to use channels for Patient referral communication but the 200 limit would not work when the deleted channels are included. If I could purge them myself once deleted the 200 would be enough. As an admin I can delete just about everything from the backend, curious why Team's deleted channels are an exception.
As a site admin, I like the fact it does not delete them, but puts them in a trash can area. But that said, I need to be able to delete old channels that are not in use anymore.
This is very very welcome. I am using a lot of channels in a Team. Since there is a limit of 200, we delete old channels before creating new ones. But since they still exist as deletet channels we cannot add new channels.
A very painful experience for us.
It could be fixed by increasing number of channels.
But it should also be possible to purge the deleted channels.
Especially when we use automation to create channels, sometimes it gets wild and creates channels we need to remove.
I do not understand why it is not possible to get rid of them.
