Mute channel timer
Great work on the new mute channel/chat feature. However, I think this would be vastly improved by adding a timer funtion (like facebook messenger). This would allow you to permanently mute a channel/chat or mute it for a set period (30 mins, 1 hour, 4 hours, 1day, 1 week for example).
This means that when you are concentrating on work and don't want notifications popping up every second for stuff that is currently irrelevant, but don't want to miss future team chats it gives that ability. I hope that explanation makes some sense.
YES! I need to mute for an hour while I am on a call and would love for the alerts to restart automatically!

I would really love this as we have people working different times but are part of the same team. Facebook's Messenger app have a great approach to this.

Duplicate of more broader one: https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/35642635-mute-channel-timer (although the linked one is actually younger, it has got more votes)
Sometimes the team engages in discussions that will last for minutes, and I would like to mute the channel but for a limited time, and after that limit the channel will be unmuted automatically.

Critical, especially for days like today when one of our team members is it a training. They can mute the team thread(s) but will they remember to unmute??! 😳
This is a great idea, could definitely do with this!
This is probably more a feature for the app, but it would be awesome if I could set a length of time to mute a particular chat for days I'm not at work or during important events so I'm less likely to forget about listening to it again later. Thank you.
