How can we make Microsoft Teams better?

Provide an option within Settings to permanently collapse or hide the 'Suggested Contacts'. It is not useful.

Offer the user an option to permanently collapse or hide the 'Suggested Contacts' that are constantly in an expanded view and must be collapsed with every login to Teams.

I could deal with either of the suggested remedies here: a preference setting to hide Suggested chat users by default or a persistent state where collapsing it once kept it that way until I expanded it. The latter would probably be the solution most in line with Mac UI practices (which is the platform on which I am using Teams). But having a colourful list of people in a sidebar is not only a distraction, some of the suggestions are of people that trigger me, so I'd rather Microsoft keep my day calmer.

You can hide it but then when you click on another page it just comes back again, so whats the point of having a small arrow to hide it if it comes back?!? i would like a more solid solution, Microsoft need to review the code before deployment!

This may be solved by a more general request which is just to make the state for all views persistent. If you switch away (or log out) and go back to a view, then you should see exactly what was there before.
