Automatic recording meetings
If you know beforehand that a meeting should be recorded then it would be nice to have an option when scheduling the meeting to start recording automatically. This can help with not forgetting to start recording and save some time and effort not having to remember to do it manually.
Thank you for your feedback! The team is currently working on this request. We will share an update as soon as one is available.

Why is Microsoft Teams not showing auto record option? A co-worker & myself both saw this option appear briefly then disappear. Everyone else in the organization seems to have no problem. Our technology people have been no help. I would like the option to use Teams auto record and need to know how to fix this issue. I would like to be forwarded the steps to take for this option to appear as a choice in Teams for me or sent information that I can forward to IT on debugging etc. and fixing this issue. Thank you for any assistance you may be able to provide.

this function is available now, but it makes the first person to JOIN the meeting the owner of the recording (it is dropped into that person's OneDrive)! How does that make any sense?? Obviously the meeting organizer needs to remain the owner of the recording!
We need way more options for controlling this function, such as do not actually start recording until the time that the meeting was SCHEDULED to start, showing a recording notification etc.

The automatic recording meetings is available for the all licence o365? For example A1?

This new feature completely goes against our consent procedures and we must have an option to turn it off in policy.
Features, especially ones that have legal ramifications, should never be implemented without an on/off switch in the policy!
We see that the option to enable Recording automatically at the start of the meeting is now available under Meeting Options.
Is there way to control the setting i.e., either Gray it out or remove it to for compliance purpose.
Great concept. Bad idea when you have 750 people invited to a meeting and multiple people people join and leave first, creating multiple recordings. I hope we get some control around this!
Totally. :) Good idea. And with a disclaimer prior to starting the recording but sounds very good :)

Obviously, this would be something controllable by admin rather than enforced in organizations that do not want the functionality that is missing today.

Bart Read very good idea! GDPR is respected in both cases manual recordered or automatic recordered.

Agree with many that the GDPR rules around privacy should be respected. We have a policy that says you must not set to automatically record for that reason. Surely a scheduled recording means would be better for all than a sweeping action like this.

Not available for me, and I really need it. Super-annoying that you have to remember to record, e.g., regular updates, training, etc. Way easier if it just did so automatically so we don't have all these recordings with the beginning of sessions chopped off.
Related: it ought to be able to provide a recording for the whole meeting even if you forget to click record until halfway through. I.e., record in the background - if nobody clicks record at all during the meeting, then delete the background recording.
It looks like it might be live for some?
[MC263666]: Teams Meeting Auto Recording is in road map
Still wating for this very useful feature...

please do this asap

Please do include automatic recording. I always miss the first 10 minutes until I remember to call start.

Ideally, we would like to set a policy to record all external calls (inbound and outbound) and video meetings. Calls at the very least. I would love to be able to drop my current softphone provider and migrate that service to Microsoft, but I can't until this is available. The Compliance Lords set the rules in the world of finance.
Furthermore, I don't need anything fancy like transcription or duplication, just a simple policy-based, cloud-stored recording. Again, audio only would do for now.
Jackie Scivicque commented
Maybe the recording can start after a set amount of time so that the fluff at the beginning of a meeting isn't recorded??
Really looking forward to this feature. I'd like to echo some of the further development requests to be able to direct where the meeting is recorded to.
Where is the Roadmap ID for this one? We need to be able to control such behavior for obvious compliance reasons!
