out of office incorrect
Teams says that a user is out of office days after the user has turned off this in Outlook. All other Office 365 systems correctly reflects this, but not Teams

Not sure if this will fix the problem for everyone, but I have just figured out this issue of one of my customers. I compared the Outlook Calendar against Teams calendar. In the end, there was a "ghost appointment" in Teams calendar which, for some reason, was not synched with Outlook's. I just deleted the "ghost appointment" from Teams calendar and things got back to work as they should. Sneaky issue.

Same situation as described by Sabrina in the below comment. I'm currently OOO on Teams app/browser/mobile app but I already turned off Automatic Replies and on all other Outlook apps I result available. On calendar I got no events with OOO so it's not it. I tried everything but still nothing...

This is a widespread issue. It unfortunately seems as though Microsoft has decided to ignore this for the time being - likely writing it off as all issues resulting from some 'hidden' all-day calendar event. The problem is, this is not always the case. As many users have already pointed out, this can happen for no apparent reason.
The need is simple:
A user has returned to work after a time off where they had turned on automatic replies before they left. They open outlook (O365 or Outlook 20XX - Exchange online or Hybrid environment - shouldn't matter the specifics) and they click on the prompt to turn off automatic replies. Viola, just like that (within an acceptable Sync time frame - no more than a couple minutes) Teams also show them as available or whatever their status is supposed to be set to based on their choice in the Teams application itself. -

One of the user is having issues with Microsoft Teams status OOO frequently. Status OOO is NOT correct in Teams even when setting is OK (online and available) in Office 365 and Outlook web online. We have checked on user's calendar has well everything seems to be working fine expect Teams status reflecting OOO
Have uninstalled and reinstalled the Microsoft teams from the user's system and mobile.

Maybe a solution? I have the same problem. Last week, I accepted a colleague's OOO invitation for this week...which confused my OL calendar. Having read this, I went back to the calendar setting and declined the invitation. Teams changed instantly to available. Maybe that's the glitch in the matrix?

Confirmed this is happening for multiple users in our org. A fix for this is critical as people rely on presence to communicate properly.

My culprit was a co-worker's PTO message, their "Show as" was set to Out of Office. When I changed the "Show as" on my calendar to FREE, my status changed to Available.

I had this problem recently and, in order to resolve it, I had to: 1) Change my OOO status in OL, 2) close Teams (sign out), 3) close Outlook, 4) reopen Outlook, and 5) reopen Teams in order for the status to be reset. Ideally, instead of going through all of the above steps, the "Reset Status" option in Teams would have been able to check my status in OL and update accordingly. As an aside, turning of OOO in OL and closing/reopening Teams did not work - Teams still showed me as OOO.

Hello,
I am having difficulties removing the out of office status from Microsoft team. The company IT has tried to remove this but has failed.
I have been directed to Microsoft to log a comment to get assistance from you.

Same issue in our organization. The workaround for this is so painful you will need to logout then login again in outlook while Teams is closed for a moment then once you signed on teams the status goes back to normal.

My team is having the same problem. Status OOO is NOT correct in Teams even when setting is OK (online and available) in Office 365 and in Outlook 2019 and Outlook web online.
Other user saved an OOO day, but even changing status or deleting event doesn't correct the issue.

It takes too long to update the "out of office" status (not to confuse with "Away") in Teams. Otherwise its a nice feature since colleagues do not search for you in the office building if they want to talk to you...

Yes, same issue here. But based on this thread (https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/msoffice_o365admin-mso_teams-mso_o365b/microsoft-teams-status-is-stuck-on-out-of-office/4382c885-f2bb-4987-a739-9f519c3ddc7c), I've come to realize that it's because a co-worker sent me an all day meeting invite with "Show As" as "out of office". I change that (in my calendar) to free, signed out of Teams and signed back in. My status hasn't changed yet but based on comments in that thread, I'm expecting it may take up to 20 minutes to change.
This would be a great item for Microsoft to look into.

Skype use to keep track of people status almost immediately. Teams does a poor job now. I call people who appear free via teams only to find out that they are in a meeting which is annoying.
