Silk support so i can use Teams on my kindle fire tablet
Silk browser support for kindle fire tablets would be great so that I don't have to take up precious space and resources with the app (assuming it is ever available in the Amazon app store). I can use so many O365 apps via Silk, and the addition of Teams would be appreciated. Even if limited to basic stuff like meetings, chat, and team groups. Thanks for considering!
How To Geek advice on this forum is spot on!! Spend some time making sure everything is downloaded in the order it says and I used my regular pc to make sure I could still see the instructions when it came time to close the amazon fire browser. Thank you how to geek!
Open the settings of your Amazon Fire 8 HD.
Go to Security and privacy.
Enable the Applications of unknown origin option.
Install the APK Google Service Framework 7.1.2.
Install the Google Account Manager 7.1.2 APK.
Install the APK of Google Play services.
Install the APK from Google Play.
I have Google play store but it doesn't open the Microsoft teams app on my kindle even when it says installed
I have fire 8 ( 7th generation) and can't download the microsoft teams app. I download the 4 apk and i got the play store app .
I followed the how to geek advice downloaded the google playstore, then microsoft teams on my son's kindle fire and it works!! Omg!!! Thanks to the 3rd or os it 4th guy on this page. He suggested it and gave the link.
I got the app to download but it wont show video from my tablet to the person I'm teaming with?
The instructions below worked for me too although a bit of a faff on and one of the APK file wouldn't download properly at first. Got there in the end though. Who knew a Kindle fire would cause such problems!
Finally was able to download the play store app and the teams app after following the instructions here: https://www.howtogeek.com/232726/how-to-install-the-google-play-store-on-your-amazon-fire-tablet/
A pain in the you know what, but it works.
the fire is not supporting either the ios or the android applications, when we have to use application for online learning and its seriously useless, when we have to use things that others cant access and we cant access theirs.
I'm about to through the fire tablet in the bin as I need to download ms teams for my kids schoolwork for tomorrow.
I could really use the teams app on my fire tablet. Especially now that I am working from home for the next 3 months.
I had to do this to get MS Teams on my kids fire tablets. You need to manually install the Google play store in order to download MS teams. You can google how to do so but basically you need to download 4 apk files in order to get google play on your device. Then you will have access to all Google apps. The only caveat is only Amazon apps can be shared with a child profile so I have to log into mine on their devices so they can use teams. Not ideal with all the switching back and forth
I guess Microsoft hasn't figured out how to get this to work on kindle for 2 years, Great Job.......

I was able to download it from the playstore, but for some reason, it's not a choice to Share the content with my child's profile, so I need to do an admin login each time they need to use teams???
Has anyone tried downloading the play store and then downloading it from there?
Has it worked?
I need my kids to be able to see their classes and i was thinking of buying amazon fires for them.
Another family in COVID lockdown with a Kindle fire users who can't access Teams. Please fix it
Can you please try to make your program compatible on Amazon Fire? We can't do our kids schoolwork on it. I never realized it was so limited in what it can do but now I have them for both my kids. Ugh!
Phew. Glad it’s not just me this time. Haha. So yeah, can we ********* kindle kids please? Fanks.
So frustrating we can’t do the school work because teams isn’t compatible with the kindle
My kids also have Kindle Fires as their personal devices and have teachers using Microsoft Teams. I already know from previous experience that a child account won't be able to use any app that is not in the Amazon app store. Please negotiate with Amazon to overcome this incompatibility!
