Video feeds from meeting participants should be at the top of the screen -- not the bottom
To create the feeling of "eye contact" it is ideal if all meeting participants are looking more or less in the direction of their camera while conversing with each other. Ideally, when a user is looking at their fellow meeting participant's video feed, it should appear as if the user is looking directly into the camera.
However, because the video feeds are at the bottom of the screen in Teams, everyone in the meeting usually appears as if they are looking down, instead of at the camera.
Therefore, the video feeds should appear at the top of each user's screen, where most people's web cameras are located.
Thank you for your feedback! We are happy to announce that Dynamic View, which allows users to dock the participant gallery to the top of your screen, is now generally available to users on Windows and MacOS. This is a no-brainer. Whoever decided to put it at bottom didn't think it through fully.
I wish for this in EVERY MEETING. 8 to 16 times a day. Please Microsoft, allow the option to move the video streams up top. :-)

This is a MUST, all the competitors have such feature since years.
I am simply still using WebEx just for this reason... Dear MS, think twice
when presenting and talking to people i want to look at the webcam at the top of the screen. looking down makes me look like i have my eyes closed. Please change this!!!
I would definitely like an option for putting the video feed on the top as well.
I want to be able to choose where I place them. Or free up the videostream as an own "app". But minimum is putting it on top.
PLease add we need it!

Is there an update on this? It's been over a year since this campaign started.
Agreed! I'd love to see all video at the top like in other applications - you can look through attendees and your eyes are landing closer to the camera.
This needs to be revised urgently. It spoils the Teams experience and given other apps allow it, seems retrograde that it's not possible, especially when so many people are asking for it in various different threads.
Absolutely move the video bar on the top, or even better let anyone to choose the desidered configuration.

Let the EU configure where they want the video box
In addition, the user's profile should be centered under the camera. I think we are all looking at ourselves.

This is my biggest problem with Microsoft Teams. This is a bad design.
Users should be able to choose where the video feeds are displayed.

This is a very basic best practice requirement that Microsoft has completely missed. One has to be able to move the other peoples video feed.
For the best immersive video conference experience, the best practice is to ensure that the participants are experiencing that the other participants to be looking into the camera, i.e. at you. The only way to achieve this is to allow the video presentation windows to be moved to the best location, such as close to a webcam or specifically to another window in a multi-screen setup.
While we wait for this requirement, we for important meetings recommend the use of competing products like Zoom, Webex and Gotomeeting that fully meet these requirements
