Meeting ownership/edit by team rather than original owner
Have an option (default?) when scheduling a meeting in teams for the calendar invite to be editable by anyone in the team that has appropriate permissions, not just the original owner.
I agree. I assumed that any team owner would be able to amend meetings linked to and sent from a channel in that team. This would make it much easier to share admin work and cover absence.

Also, we would need to be able to cancel the meeting or change the owner / organiser when the current one is no longer in the organisation

FYI - All team members can already edit channel meetings, which have the team itself as organizer. The key to doing this is to open the meeting from the teams calendar (not your calendar), then change attendees, rooms, date and time, details, etc.
So create a channel meeting in Teams, then finish editing the meeting in Outlook to resolve attendee and room conflicts, edit details, etc. where the environment is much nicer - a separate issue to improve. :)
Agree, that would be excellent. At a minimum, the teams' owners or team members designated by the meeting organizer should be able to modify and update meetings.
