Guest registration for live events
We have trouble introducing the live events feature if not every attendee is known. A solution would be, that additionally to the live event option "organization wide (registration required)" potential external viewer could register for the event, similar to the "Guest" registration for a team. So we can invite internal and external users and ensure that every viewer is known with name and email.

Please have an option for an external person to write their name to join the live event even if they do not have an account. We need an attendee list and if they don't have a microsoft account, they join as anonymous which doesn't help us. An attendee list is absolutely crucial along with knowing who is asking a question.

This has go to be the #1 issue to make Teams a fully functional Meeting and Webinar system. Otherwise, what makes them any different from using Zoom? Add this functionality and you also make a case for companies to dump their expensive GoToMeeting/GoToWebinar accounts that they literally only have because this functionality is not available in other systems such as Teams.

PLEASE. Live event registrations is a vital feature for us as most of our sales events are now happening virtually and it'd be ideal to have these through Teams rather than Zoom, Webex, etc.
Similar to Zoom, it would be great to enable a registration form where participants plug in their information and receive an automatic email confirmation with date and time of the event, join details (link to join/ conferencing number), link to cancel their RSVP, etc.

The lack of this feature forces my company to contract other 3rd party solutions. In certain industries it is key to be able to track who is attending to your live meeting.

Teams is a very good tool for online meetings. Very stable and intuitive even to new users. Wonder why registration feature (as simple as having just name, email, phone no. and organization) can remain in the backlog for such a long time.

I need to be able to send invitations to register for Live Events through services like Salesforce or email marketing software. I would not be sending out text email invitations. The information would have a high graphic content and ideally are designed in PowerPoint or some other software package so that the text is editable and the links are live. It can't be an invitation because I need to reject the registration of competitors, and also need to have a record of those who were interested for prospecting. So being able to embed a link to a Registration site in this graphic/Salesforce email is critically important and that has been a strong feature of Zoom.
Hope you can get this done soon. I would love to be part of a group that does free beta testing on this feature. -

Would really love event registration. It's one of the main reasons we are looking at a competitors webinar software.

This is important! There's no point promoting live events as a webinar tools when such simple feature is not available. This has caused some of our users to use other webinar tools instead of Teams.

Yes we desperately need this feature to be resolved as we keep having to use external options such as eventbrite to capture attendee's information. If every live event attendee had to at least put their full name & email address in as a minimum it would be fantastic

We need to make a decision on our webinar toolset shortly. We will be unable to persist with Live Events if the registration issue is not resolved, which will damage our ambition to standardise on MS Teams.

Really hope this is coming soon, not being able to add external guests easily is causing major pain for our organisation. There must be an easier way.

This is the number one thing keeping us from completely removing GoTo and Zoom from our portfolio and only using Teams across the enterprise.

Hi there, my team is still asking for this. As our group continues to avoid in-person events, we are finding additional needs from Teams that did not come up in the first couple months of the pandemic.

This is a critical feature, in the absence of this basic feature, our users will continue to use other services and they will limit Live Events for internal events.
