Guest registration for live events
We have trouble introducing the live events feature if not every attendee is known. A solution would be, that additionally to the live event option "organization wide (registration required)" potential external viewer could register for the event, similar to the "Guest" registration for a team. So we can invite internal and external users and ensure that every viewer is known with name and email.

Thanks for the comments and votes. This item remains on the team backlog and we will watch your votes and comments on this feature.

We really need this functionality. It's a must feature for organizations.

This just seems like a feature that is needed by so many to have it fully functional. I've upvoted it as I came from a search "how to have registration for teams live", basically.

Does this Microsoft 365 Roadmap item mean this is off the backlog - or will it not apply to live events?
Microsoft Teams: Meeting attendee registration
Add a custom attendee registration page to any meeting to better manage attendance before and after any engagement. Following registration, attendees receive an email confirmation with calendar invite.

We will keep on using Zoom until this feature is available

I agree wholeheartedly. We need a way for invitees to register, select from multiple sessions, and receive registration confirmations along with a calendar update.

We use Webex event center for webinars for our clients and business partners. We would like to move to Teams Live Events as we are using Teams for our other meetings, but we need registration and approval of registrants.

Yes, a registration page is a must:
1.registration and selection of multiple sessions (date & time pulldown)
2. After registering (internal and external audience) participants should receive a confirmation and calendar item.. -

100% agree. As we look to engage our customer and main stakeholders through live broadcasts or info sessions, we will need to use a platform that has attendee registration before joining the call. Of course we would rather utilize our Microsoft platform than go elsewhere

Without the ability for public events to have "registration required" included, our company will be forced to use an alternative platform. What does it take to get off the backlog and on the road map??

This is a feature that would be nice to have on both normal meetings and also events as the Power autmation does not work that well

I'm a fan of O365 and Teams. Teams has such great potential but with tools like Zoom that are more intuitive and have the desired features already, it makes a hard argument to keep the office using Teams. The ONLY valid continued argument in support of Teams is "we are already paying for it and Zoom will be an additional expense". The argument against that statement is "we have our image to our customers to considered and we look bad presenting with a product that doesn't work." If Teams actually provided needed functionality, we could take that money we are paying Zoom and add more O365 options - Microsoft wins. Please stop counting votes to try to quantify what is truly just common sense - make your product work like it should and reap the rewards. Customers first - before investors - means more customers and more rewards for investors.

We will end up using another tool such as zoom since this feature is critical for our org and management team. I totally agree with the idea that "If you really need to see votes to justify this, your product marketing team is completely useless ... fire them and hire more developers to get this done."

Attendee registrations process is lacking and again has problems, which need resulution urgently. Also, in cases where the attendee had a microsoft outlook.com account, it denied joining (even as attendee) saying it requires being added to the tenant. Anonymous entry worked then.
Ideally, for attendees:
(i) a form with user name and password (one time defiend by user) or option of OTP/code sent to cell/email should be allowed for attendee registration and then joining should be allowed on these credentials.
(ii) Anonymous mode should allow joinee option to mention name and this should be displayed when attendee asks questions and also show up in attendance report.
(iii) Joinee list should be available while the live event is on to the producers. -

UPVOTED!!! During the panic of everyone working from home our company went everywhere and of course Zoom. Now that the panic has died down I am trying to reel everyone back in to try and use Teams since it is already part of our repetiteur and expenses, but the feedback that I am getting is the registration process of Zoom and GoToWebinar. Give me the tools that I need so I can win them back please!

Please allow people to register so they can hopefully get around the "Login to Teams" BS for a Live Event which fails because of B2B in Azure. Explaining how to click on the purple "join anonymously" link on a black background has generated many support tickets.

Agree 100% that this is a basic function that should be prioritized over "cute" projects like "together mode"

We went with Zoom Webinars because of the lack of a registration process for Live events. This is a pretty basic feature for any type of Webinar platform so it boggles my mind that it doesn't exist for Teams Live.
Please put this on the front burner.

With the importance of adhering to State Laws about social distancing, how can you NOT have an MS Team meeting registration/RSVP feature?????
Are you kidding?
So how am I to know how many people have registered for this event?
How am I know when we're at the room's capacity based on spreading out the chairs?
How am I to let folks know that they cannot join this meeting so they don't form a long line in the hallway...again, no social distancing.
How am I to contact trace if there is no registration list .csv?
