Guest registration for live events
We have trouble introducing the live events feature if not every attendee is known. A solution would be, that additionally to the live event option "organization wide (registration required)" potential external viewer could register for the event, similar to the "Guest" registration for a team. So we can invite internal and external users and ensure that every viewer is known with name and email.

Thanks for the comments and votes. This item remains on the team backlog and we will watch your votes and comments on this feature.

We are still forced to use competing webinar products for events would should be Live Events but for which we need a significant number of trusted guests to attend. Please consider this feature upgrade.

This should not be on the back end. We need this ASAP due to the pandemic.

Microsoft Team, If companies avoid the Teams platform for live marketing events because there is an inability to effectively use follow on digital marketing tactics you are missing an opportunity expose the Teams platform to other users who have yet to realize the value of Teams. I think this issue is much wider than the current vote count. We simply cannot use Teams for marketing events even though we want to. I can't drive marketing motions against anonymous users. Every lead counts.

This is an important feature, some of our business users are keen to move from Zoom to Teams, but this is a gap for them.

Our college has just migrated the entire staff and faculty to Teams from Skype, and would like to utilize Teams for the webinars and whatnot. We have been using Zoom for that, almost 100%. Cannot expand our Teams usage without the ability to have people (both from inside and outside the org) pre-register for an advertised event.

Very surprised that this feature has not been implemented after the initial request in 2018. Hoping to adopt Teams for our webinars soon.

We want to switch from hosting Zoom webinars but can't because Teams doesn't allow for pre-registering and attendance lists. These things are crucial for follow-up lead generation.

same here, we host Live events with a confidential content and need to make shure who will be attending and who is attending. So registration and authorisation. Currently my organisation is bugging me to use BlueJeans who has this option.

It's unfortunate that this is still on your backlog. Without this functionality, our users are forced to look elsewhere for a webinar solution and are now requesting Zoom.

We need this option to be able to use for external events. We are unable to use without.

Hello, this is a really important feature for the perfect usability of Teams Live Event. In the time of corona it is important to stay in contact with externals and it is also important to know, who is taking part in such an event. There must be the possibility for the viewers to enter their names for a required tracking! This feature is a valid reason to think about switching to another provider. I hope that a solution will be found quickly.

even just logging their IP address would be a step in the right direction. right now we have hundreds of session joins, but have no idea if it's the same person logging in and out due to connection problems, or actual unique participants.

Not having an event registration and attendance list has caused our marketing department to use Zoom. Teams is a tough sell when it comes to marketing events where registration and attendances lists are crucial for follow-up lead generation.

Our marketing department want to be able to switch from Zoom to Teams Live Events. However, a major barrier is that Live Events does not allow us to pre-register and know who will be attending the meetings. This and the ability for attendees to ask voice questions, are important features that would mean we could switch from using Zoom.
