Guest registration for live events
We have trouble introducing the live events feature if not every attendee is known. A solution would be, that additionally to the live event option "organization wide (registration required)" potential external viewer could register for the event, similar to the "Guest" registration for a team. So we can invite internal and external users and ensure that every viewer is known with name and email.

Thanks for the comments and votes. This item remains on the team backlog and we will watch your votes and comments on this feature.

This would be needed for us to begin using live events at the corporate level.

Becoming a massive issue with our company too. Annoying that it's only on backlog.

In our organization, we started using MS teams live event, but most of the secured project denied this teams live event because of anonymous user registration feature is not available. When this registration feature will be released ?

I love Teams and must say I am disappointed there is not a registration process for Live Events. Please move this up in the backlog. I can guarantee tons of businesses are hosting webinars right now to help people and businesses with COVID-19, and Zoom has this as a feature.

I suggest the Teams team takes a look at the options in GoToWebinar or similar offerings.

Agreed! Teams offers great potential, but the Live Event capabilities need to be on par, or surpass what GotoWebinar offers.
- Full registration for internal or external viewers.
- provide confirmation email with calendar reminder and non-shareable link- Reports showing all attendees, contact info, and responses to the Q/A for future reference.

When you use Bookings for an online meeting, the participants get a nice prompt for their name. This should just be implemented the same way for a live event.

As Bill mentioned , we need a basic report with data of the participant (Name, e-mail) of the live Teams Event.
When will this be fixed? Do we have any predictions? -

We would love to use Teams Live Events as an alternative to WebEx for hosting basic webinars with customers, but the lack of a registration feature means our marketing team doesn't gain useful analytics to enable meaningful engagement and follow-up. We would just like basic registration info such as name, email, and phone numbers, and to know which registrants actually attended.

This should be a no-brainer.

Ideally, we would like to cap the attendees (at some number that we chose) through a registration process, then have the registration process send out an .ics attachment for those that successfully registered.

As Bill mentioned back in January this is the only thing holding us back from using Live Event.

We ended up developing a web app for meeting registration and URL redirection to Live Events. It works well, but it would be nice if this was a native feature for a Live Event.

I tried promoting Teams Live Event as an option for a marketing webcast targeted to prospective clients. Deal breaker was the inability to be able to record contact information for meeting attendees. While the participants were asked for their name when joining the meeting, this information was not included in the attendee engagement report. We ended up having to subscribe to a competing product which would allow us to capture information about who attended our webinar. Ideally, we'd like to capture name, email address and optionally phone number of all meeting participants.
