Add a "Raise Your Hand" feature in meetings
When in a meeting with multiple people it would be nice to have a way to signal that you would like to speak so that you can be called upon by the meeting organizer.
This would allow users to show they have something to say, but they do not want to interrupt
We are happy to announce the general availability of this feature for Windows, Mac & Mobile devices.

Raise your hand does not work for guest users. Could you fix that please?
How do we view this feature in laptops
Hi, when you say that the IOS and Android versions are coming can you expand on that. Are we looking at weeks or months? Thanks for your work so far.

We just got the Raise Hand feature and are very glad about the addition. However, the Presenter experience is still very hampered in several respects, *especially* in these SIP times where many of our users don't currently have the luxury of multiple monitors.
Most of our presenters need to use the Share Desktop mode. Without a separate monitor, they don't see or even get alerted to someone either posting something to the Meeting Chat or (now) raising their hand.
To make matters even more complicated, the Raise Hand indicator doesn't show up in the Chat panel, only in the Participants panel. When you're sharing screen, it's often in full-screen mode. So even though for some important meetings we've had a second person monitor the chat window and verbally communicate questions to the Presenter, now the person monitoring Chat can't see the Raised Hands. Do we have to have a 3rd person monitor the Participants panel too....? I think you can see where this is problematic.
It seems that all sharing modes should support what the Share PowerPoint option does; the ability for the Presenter to have the chat panel open without it being visible to the audience. AND the Raise Hand feature should post an indicator into the Chat as well.
Any indication if any of this is in the works? Thank you!
We are using MS Teams at my school (because of corona). It would be really great if the organizer could control the mute system. My students mute others including me sometimes, just because they can.
Its great but in my scenario its useless unless Microsoft teams makes the feature of allowing the presenter or organizer to take full control of muting and unmuting to the attendees like in the zoom.

This feature is really great! It would be good to know the order in which people raised hand, so that the speaker can address raise hand concerns in a fair way, supposedly the order it was used by different people - could you add this as well?
Plz reply with the version code in which raise hand is avilable. ?
not for linux-versions?
You are right but how I always land on Microsoft teams on iPad
This is great Alex! We have been waiting for this for weeks - much appreciated!!!
*Small bug*: when I call another person (a) directly the raise hand function is not yet active.
When I add person (b), the raise hand function becomes available and works for me (organiser) and for person (b) but not for person (a).
Person (a) sees the icon, but cannot raise the hand or see hands raised in the 'people' panel.
When I call a named group, the hand is available immediately and the problem doesn't occur.
Tested several times with different persons and behaves like this consistently.

Thanks Alex. The new raise hand feature seems great but it seems useless to our school as we cannot force mute students so they can unmute themselves which makes our class very uncontrollable. So it would be great if we can force mute participants so they cannot unmute themselves and only organizer and presenter can allow them to unmute like Zoom meeting.
Our classes are being uncontrollable and we are being compelled to move to Zoom.
So please speed up the development of this force muting feature.

Microsoft Teams Version 1.3.00.12058 should have a 3 x3 video?
How will we be notified?

Thank you Alex, It would be great to lower everybody hands with one click, just like the ability to mute everybody. It would be also nice to get an ETA of the new mobile clients.

Going to be a really useful feature, thanks team
Great! What´s the follow-up for the presenter? Can he unmute that person or something? That would be great!
