Add a "Raise Your Hand" feature in meetings
When in a meeting with multiple people it would be nice to have a way to signal that you would like to speak so that you can be called upon by the meeting organizer.
This would allow users to show they have something to say, but they do not want to interrupt

We are happy to announce the general availability of this feature for Windows, Mac & Mobile devices.

Large meetings are unwieldy without this feature. I think I'm going back to webex.

So sad it isn't there now. We're having trouble tracking who wishes to add to a discussion. We've really been struggling and I've been thinking of recommending a different tool for our virtual meetings, especially if there are more than five participants.
With the raise a hand, it is assumed you can lower the hand as well. (And maybe some way for the presenter to do that if the participant forgets once they've been given the floor?)
Just a thought - in meetings where everyone is muted, maybe by clicking on the raised hand the presenter can also unmute that participant and that participant is somehow notified that they are free to speak. What do others think of that?

Hey Alex,
That's great. How would we know when this is coming or has arrived?

I would LOVE to have this feature! My team struggles with talking over each other. Thanks for working on this!

Teams can be a great way to transform traditional classrooms, but there needs to be a way for people (students) to raise their hand and be recognized without speaking over the current speaker / conversation.

I second this suggestion.

Can you incorporate a quick vote option in video conferencing? Or raise your hand feature? Similar to Webex.

I agree with the need for a feature to raise hands. We tried Skype for Business. It didn't have this feature and made meeting management very difficult. This feature is available in WebEx or Zoom

This is one of the only things keeping me from using just MS Teams for meetings. Until it's in, I will continue to use WebEx.

Especially using for virtual classroom.

Yes, "raise your hand" is necessary for large meetings. Also, maybe add a number inside the hand to know who wanted to participate first. I think this would be very useful for active meetings that have a large number of attendees.

👋 That will help with organisation for large meetings. For courteous interjection.
