Add a "Raise Your Hand" feature in meetings
When in a meeting with multiple people it would be nice to have a way to signal that you would like to speak so that you can be called upon by the meeting organizer.
This would allow users to show they have something to say, but they do not want to interrupt
We are happy to announce the general availability of this feature for Windows, Mac & Mobile devices.

We badly need it!

Hello, this seems easy to do with the basic functionality, Use an emoji in the chat field,
You could start the meeting from a channel, normally the chat is published to everyone in the video session.
My 2 cents

I think it would be beneficial for there to be a kind of 'hand raising' button for when teachers ask students questions while having a lesson on Teams video chat. A queue of students willing to answer the question should form, and the teacher can then decide who to allow to answer the question so that everyone has an opportunity to answer rather than it being a competition of who can unmute their microphone first.
raise hand problem!!!!

Very much needed now due to the circumstances

Suddenly chairing lots of large meetings by Teams. This feature will really add value. Please!
It would be great if you could enable a feature where you can control the meeting participants with raise your hand and muting the participates so that there is a facilitator of the meeting to eliminate a lot of time waited in people speaking in over each other
This is a feature in Zoom and would be great to have in TEAMS as well.

Can you please give an update asap? Because of the coronavirus, we need to have team meeting every day with 20+ people in meeting all the time. Team is great, but some essential feature is missing for meeting, the key features miss are: raising hand, annotating on the screen and see more than 4 people in video.
Pls provide feedback asap!
Hi Alex - Has Teams added this feature yet? It would be SO helpful for online classroom learning that will be taking place soon due to coronavirus.
As ALL meetings, with multiple people taking part, is the new office situation for poeple all over the world, it is now URGENT that you deliver this feature. Our organization just started using Teams and I allready see that we need to investigate other options if this feature is not in place asap (like yesterday).
I would also like to add that two features suggested by others in the comments here are extremly good ideas and very much needed features!
Kimi on March 10:
"It would be even better if the system can show who reached up the hand first, second, third etc... So the facilitator can let the first one who reached up their hands to speak first.
Once the person is finished with their speech, the facilitator will click to remove this person and the second person will move to the first place on the list and is ready to speak next."
and Ben Zorn on March 10:
"Can you add a "+1" feature to add support for audio comments? With more and more online meetings, I'm finding I'm agreeing with a person speaking but don't have any way to quietly show agreement. Is there already a feature that creates a real-time transcript of the conversation?
The +1 feature could be added to that."
Hard to believe that this feature has not been added yet. It is the most essential feature of all online-meeting tools. The first one that should be implemented after one can hear the other's voice, before video-streaming or platform sharing!
Great to hear. Looking forward to this feature - hopefully very soon - as we are moving to an online teaching and learning environment as we get ready for the Virus to hit in Melbourne.

We switched to online teaching due to Corona virus. My university provides two platforms Blackboard Collaborate Ultra and MS teams.I chose the later because I liked it very much, now I am considering switching to blackboard because of the "raise hand" feature.!
please do something ASAP

This is necessary ASAP with the current need for remote learning. I use Teams and Class Notebook on a daily basis, but I think I'm going to need another platform for video classes since Teams has no way for students to "raise their hands".

This would be HUGE as we are face with remote leaning
Same here, please add this feature as soon as possible, really need it in the present environment globally.
