Ability to Mute a Conversation Thread
Please allow the ability for individual users to mute replies to a thread they have participated in. Allow this to be a toggle located under the three dot menu or an additional hover button.
Muting of conversation threads is available to the public. Just like muting a chat, turning off notifications to a channel conversation will stop you from receiving updates for that specific conversation.
To turn off notifications for specific conversations
- Go to the beginning of a conversation in a channel
- Go to the top right corner of the original message in the conversation thread and select More options … > Turn off notifications.

This plus the lack of reaction emojis (https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/16911544-allow-any-emoji-as-a-reaction-not-just-thumbs-up) is a brutal combination. You can't emote :heavy_check_mark:, say, to indicate "done" - but then after you reply "done" you get notified for every other person who replies "done"

would love this feature. I comment once on a fluff post, then i get every freaking reply the originzation does to one post. I was just trying to be funny. Please let me stop following

It's been 7 months since the Feature Team said they were working on it. As someone who works in Software Development, this can't be taking this long.

Please implement this!!
236 votes... what's taking so long? PLEASE implement this feature. I want to comment and be involved, but getting a million notifications is really distracting.

any updates yet? I upvote this 10 times...
Absolutely AGREED! Twitter does this very well with the "mute this conversation" option. And we can also un-mute it at any point, although being @'d should override your mute (great suggestion)!

While I really want this too, if just the ability to mute notifications on a thread is doable then I’d be fine with this too.

I often have to choose NOT to add to conversations because I don't want to get spammed with notifications,
Or mute a specific conversation

Has been mentioned multiple times below, but to show absolute enthusiasm, YES, please implement this.
The feature should have the timer functionality though. E.g. mute for 10 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 4 hours, 8 hours, 24 hours or mute until user manually reactivates notifications for that particular thread.

PLEASE consider implementing this. Our company has turned to Teams for every interaction imaginable, and it can get a bit out of hand.
"General it is Meme Day! Not many rules, 1) needs to be original 2) Make good choices- please put new all memes on this thread so we can keep the voting consolidated."

While many people LOVE to keep up-to-date on the latest in meme trends (108 new messages from the team in an 8 hour period), I would love the ability to mute rampage threads so I can focus on the important notifications.
yes. some conversations i don't want to hear the notification sound, but the rest i do.
Ditto Ditto Ditto, Ditto Ditto Ditto. Repeat this comment over and over and over and over, and over and over again and you get the gist on these interrupting notifications we are getting on a particular ever living, no longer relevant threads throughout the day to the computer, phone, and watch. To the point of wanting to unsubscribe to the channel but must for the sake of the job.

It's interesting that you can mute private conversations but you cannot mute conversations in a team workspace.

Please launch this function it is more user oriented and user friendly than right clicking on the channel or sub channels to get email address to send communication to get it to load in the channel. the current function to email the channel does not notify us.
Very much so want this feature, not having often causes my to not add to conversations because I dont want to get spammed with notifications
Lack of this feature makes me use contribute to discussions on Teams less because of the notification spam that is going to follow it
