Ability to Mute a Conversation Thread
Please allow the ability for individual users to mute replies to a thread they have participated in. Allow this to be a toggle located under the three dot menu or an additional hover button.
Muting of conversation threads is available to the public. Just like muting a chat, turning off notifications to a channel conversation will stop you from receiving updates for that specific conversation.
To turn off notifications for specific conversations
- Go to the beginning of a conversation in a channel
- Go to the top right corner of the original message in the conversation thread and select More options … > Turn off notifications.

This seems like a simple feature that most other tools support. Why this has not been implemented yet, I cannot even begin to understand. Not being unable to unsubscribe from a conversation totally destroys the usefulness of Teams, the only solution is to turn off notifications completely, which also ruins the usefulness. Why on earth hasn't this been implemented yet? And not even an update on this issue for over a year...
At the very least....allow us to mute for an HOUR while we're in an important meeting.

Please, for the love of all things holy.

This is now available via More options >> Turn off notifications/Turn on notifications on the first post in the conversation.
Perhaps a Microsoft developer/moderator will update the status.

It's annoying that I can't get rid of @ notification over Teams icon in left menu even after HOURS of OCDC searching for what's triggering it. I'm **** sure at this point I've seen any mention of me in any convo's I follow, and many I don't ... Still can't get rid of that **** @ sign ...

Gotta say - yet another example that Teams is seriously half-baked. Slack has it beat by a country mile with this sort of stuff.

there are certain conversations that some team members are eventually become not part of, even if they were initially tagged.
i know you can turn off notifications for replies to conversations you were tagged, but sometimes you need this feature for other conversations.
It's better if we can mute specific conversations.

This^^^ Definitely annoying to keep getting notifications when new replies are added.
Would be great. I want to follow a channel - but not get notifications about certain threads I'm tagged in.

This is a really frustrating feature and create a lot of noise which reduces the effectiveness of the tool. A fix to this would be greatly appreciated
We are coming up on 1 year from last update. Maybe it's time ?!
The combination of the fact this isn't available yet and the lack of responsiveness is why people prefer applications such as Slack. Please provide an update, it shouldn't be this hard to get some common sense functionality.
This would be great. A way to quietly back out of the room once you know someone else is on it.
Any updates, ETA?
Almost a year and no responses. What happened to those updates @Warren? I'm about to quit using Teams because this is so annoying. If you really hate someone just tag them in an office-wide conversation.
Also requesting. Sometimes a person gets tagged and cannot remove themselves from a conversation.
Any updates now after 10 months? (11 since work started)
