Team Hubs are Silos
The way Microsoft Teams is implemented does not seem very efficient. You have to specifically work within a team hub and open Teams and build out the space. There are too many teams within a big organization and trying to use an App such as teams to interact with hundreds of teams is just not efficient.
Please engage the folks at http://www.office.com. Microsoft should simply have a strategy that in order to get started, consumer and enterprises equally alike, simply need to visit http://www.Office.com
From there, they can simply make a call, have a video conference , work together on files, engage other tenants with special interopability, build the page to how the individual best interfaces wit the cloud.
Microsoft Also needs to deeply engage the Windows 10 team to build Windows 10 as a Shell of Office 365 which would already encompass the entire organization hub including any teams.
Microsoft, Please stop building Apps! People no longer need Apps and different namesof apps and overlapping functionality which gets confusing.
Microsoft, Please start building FUNCTIONS within the Office 365 cloud fabric!
As an example, I should simply browse to https://www.office.com and click an object that allows me to make a call or have a video conference. I should see all the files I need and any chats if I choose.
There is no need for teams, sharepoint, Skype for Business as those functions should be built right into the Office 365 Fabric as well as the Windows 10 Operating system to provide a rich robust end user driven computing experience guided perhaps by and administrative or AI productivity path.
The more I think about it, the more silly this whole product becomes. Seriously? I need to Open a specific team to see my calls history, files, chats etc?
Microsoft, Please, I am not a young person anymore and this technology you are developing is still back in the 80's.
Stop focusing on Apps that do specific things. They are Silos. Look at Office 365 as a cloud computing Fabric. Build functionality into that fabric. Present functionality to the tenant and provide a single canvas, board, space, area, portal, platform, or whatever you want to call it that allows the individual user put together the objects that will make them most functional. Do this at the entire tenant level.
Now I have files all over the darn place in Teams, Libraries, and OneDrive. That's ThreeDrives if you ask me. Imagine if it were true that only OneDrive actually existed.
Simply Visit http://www.office.com and select Files. BAM! There are all your files. I mean seriously Microsoft, how hard is that? Why not first fix your file storage platform and then build from there.
I don't think there is any need what so ever for an app called TEAMS. Once I join the Office 365 Tennant I am part of the Organization Team. There should be no need to further slice up Organizations into Team Silos.
