delete recorded meeting
There is no way to delete a meeting that has been recorded in a channel. There have been a couple of times that I have started and ended one realizing I was in the wrong channel or that I didn't give it a title or topic name.
Thank you for your feedback! For information on deleting channel and private meeting recordings, please visit https://support.microsoft.com/office/delete-a-meeting-recording-in-teams-b1ff8102-72da-4a6c-9979-d03a55d9b65d.

Can you please teach me how to delete a recording of a meeting. I recorded al important lesson for my students, so they can see the instructions again while making they work. But by accident a familymember came into a shot from a webcam. Not knowing it was recording and now she is not amused and wants it gone asap.
Why has no one from microsoft answered?
I am another desperate teacher trying to delete ridiculous practice videos that I have made, just to see if I can make it work. I too have removed the source video - but cannot remove the original listing in teams.
p.s. I did make a team called "test" which only I am using and trying out all these things, before I confront students on Monday.
BUT MICROSOFT THIS IS URGENT.
Ditto - please make this option avail ASAP
Please get onto this ASAP, we are all learning at a superfast pace and making mistakes along the way. It isn't helpful when we cant correct these mistakes, as it confuses the kids and staff become hesitant about using these great tools.
"You can erase the video source in Stream but the link persists in the posts, it just stays there lingering forever without any video associated to it anymore."
This needs to be fixed and seems like and obvious error and oversight. This causes major confusion. Please take this seriously.
Yep, this issue needs to move way up in the list of things to fix. Students are getting confused. Although Teams is not perfect, it sure is impressive and has been rather helpful during these confined times. Thanks!
This is growing ever important in our new remote teaching model. Faculty are learning Stream and Teams which is great, an unfortunate side effect is content that faculty are testing with is permanently displayed on their course channel. Removing unnecessary posts would prevent student confusion. Thanks.
It is an annoying bug in the software, especially because everyone knows that it shouldn't be that difficult to remove the link. You can erase the video source in Stream but the link persists in the General channel posts, it just stays there lingering forever without any video associated to it anymore.
C'mon developers, I get that improving the quality of the videoconference is a challenge, but this? seriously? take a break from the difficult tasks and spend one minute to add "delete" to the "meeting stub", it can't be that demanding.

We've been calling the leftover thumbnail & link in the Teams channel a "meeting stub". Having the original person who recorded the video be able to delete the "stub" would be awesome.
stupid developers who make programs.... simple Delete cannot be created
So i recorded accidently my video conference, it is shared in the chat and i can't delete it. There is not more options for the recorded video's ☹☹
Adding to the chorus - please add a way to delete the channel post to a deleted Meet Now/Streams video. This is a major flaw.

This is ridiculous. Can you please add a way to remove recorded videos from the Teams Hub!
In Microsoft Teams, in the environment where user settings can not be stored in MS Stream, add a function to prevent 6 day video files from being generated on the cloud and download before waiting for 6 days. want.

June of 2019, no changes. I can delete the Stream video, but it still shows in Teams.
The more confusing part is that when they click on the link in Teams, it gives a message that the video doesn't exist.
This leaves the end user feeling confused and uncertain about using MS Teams.
I don't want to put users in that position.
I can't even delete the recording at all, it says "Recording failed to upload to Stream" in red so can't even locate where the recording is saved as a file. Surely there should be a way of completely deleting recorded meetings from everywhere?
Deleting a video and the corresponding link in Teams should be an option. Removing the video in MS streams is good, but allowing the link to still appear in Teams is ridiculous. That causes even more confusion as people now wonder if something is wrong on their end when the video does not load. If users can delete a post, why are they unable to delete a recording in Teams?

I would like to know this too. The instructions Microsoft provides on deleting a recording in Teams only deletes the recording in Stream. The reference to the recording and a dead link still remain in the Channel. I want to remove all reference that the recording ever existed. I'd also like to delete other meeting references where no recording was made. This is a missing feature in Teams.
