Transfer to voicemail option
In Skype for Business and most other phone systems, you can select to transfer a caller directly to voicemail (receptionists use this all the time). Teams does not have this option. It is very important for folks to not transfer to a ring-ring-ring experience if they simply need to leave a voicemail.
Thanks for your feedback. The transfer to voicemail option is currently in testing and will be released soon.
Note: Direct calls to a users voicemail is a separate feature which is planned. We’ll update when we have more details to share on this one.
When will transferring straight to voicemail be available on the mobile app?
Is this something that is available yet? Forwarding calls straight to voicemail?

When would this be out for Teams phones? Microsoft is dropping support for Skype for Business but they don't even have feature parity for the phones yet
This is now in place, when you transfer a call there is an option (via a dropdown) to transfer to Work Voicemail.
Transfer call to work voicemail is now available, at least on Yealink Phones:

The Transfer to Voicemail option does not appear on a Teams certified phone.
In addition, the Transfer to Voicemail option is different on the Mobile App, versus the desktop. A menu appears next to the "Transfer Now" User, which presents the "Work Voicemail" option.
Transferring to Voicemail is more essential from the phone, than from the desktop app. In our offices, the phones provide privatized calls, preventing background noise and broadcasting while on a call.

It's working for us now. Not sure if you have rolled out to everyone but all our users seem to have it on the windows client anyways.

I have a customer that had this feature when we first installed teams a couple months ago and it randomly stopped working. Any idea why it might have stopped working? When she transfers to Vm it's ringing the phone then dropping to VM.
For those wanting an update...
You can transfer directly to VM from the Windows desktop app (see attached screenshot).
However you can't transfer to VM from the mobile app (iOS) or from Teams phones (Yealink/Polycom). This is desperately needed!

Is this still a thing? My receptionists need this feature so they can transfer to voicemail, especailly for high level execs who cant be bothered with mundane calls during business meetings.

Considering migrating to Teams Voice but without this feature it is a hard sell. Any update on this?
It is now 2021, how soon is "soon"?

ユーザーのステータス ("取り込み中" など) によって、着信した電話の呼び出し音を鳴らすことなく、直接ボイスメールに転送する機能を提供してほしい。
Please add a way to mute ringing for incoming calls and send them directly to voicemail based on the receiving user’s status (Busy, etc.)

Not sure which blows my mind more; That this wasn't a day one feature (expecting that customers would be migrating from a S4B experience) - or that fact that we are still waiting for it after all this time. It's absolutely affecting adoption. Guess we'll just wait for competitors to come in and seal Teams Voice's fate as we've seen before with other innovations.
Any update? We were told this was "Coming Soon" more than a year ago!!!

Hi Alex, was this feature ever released?
The mobile app on iOS and Android needs to have the same transfer functionality that the desktop application does. You should be able to Transfer, Transfer Consult, and Transfer to Voicemail. Please make sure that the transfer consult and transfer to voicemail make it in the next updates for iOS and Android mobile devices.
Would love this feature.
Have my words if Microsoft kept sleeping fall of business will be fast, I kept telling Avaya for years to adapt to scenario quickly but they never listened & same is what Microsoft doing. Not able to release basic options.
