Please remove the "Your microphone is muted" pop up or allow the user to turn it off in preferences.
Please allow the user to turn off the "Your microphone is muted" pop up. When using a microphone with a hardware mute button, constantly having to close that dialog is completely unnecessary, and it covers up participants' video.
FYI - Under Device Settings, you can change the 'Noise suppression' to 'Low' from 'Auto', and it helps, so until somebody from Microsoft reads this post some time in the next decade, this may help individuals. It doesn't help classrooms or can be administered centrally, unfortunately.
3 years. Seriously. 3 years, no answer.
Please give us the option to enable or disable this feature.
Its a good concept but very annoying when muted in a meeting and there is background noise. Constantly appears over the presentation.
Please allow users to turn this feature off, thanks.

oversized popup that hides the stream. My mic is very close to my keyboard so the popup is almost always on when I type. If you don't want to disable it (it could be an option), could you at least place the popup where it does not hide anything, like in the bar above the stream instead of in front of it.

Please add a user preference to disable the oversized "Your microphone is muted" modal:
Optionally, if this preference is selected, the tooltip treatment can also be suppressed.
A little rationale:
1. The muted / unmuted indication in the floating control bar UI is sufficient for experienced Teams users.
2. I'm using background applications to toggle mute controls via keystroke – so each time I mute the audio, then the oversized Teams "Your microphone is muted" modal is presented, occluding the Teams video / on-screen content.
3. For experienced Teams users, the tooltip "Your microphone is muted" indication is distracting for every background rustle or paper shuffle – we're already trained to look to the floating meeting controls for muted/unmuted status.
Remove that stupid notification! Morons
Microsoft is ****! Always a lot of issues. I hate it

Please remove this or give me the option to switch it off. I live stream meetings for our authority and I stay on mute as I am only live streaming it... don’t need to talk... but every time I make a noise, it shows up on the screen and shows on the live stream... very annoying!!
Let us disable this popup, it's obnoxious and unnecessary.

Please remove this, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
I can't see crucial information during meetings because of this **** message, telling me I'm muted. I know I am muted, the microphone has a cross in it!
This pop up is extremely useless and annoying: I am muting my mic because I am using Teams in a setting where there is background noise I don't want everyone to hear, I know my mic is turned off, I am the one who muted it. Thanks to this function I am unable to take notes digitally while producing regular keyboard-clicking-sounds without permanantly blocking my view on the slides with this horrid pop up. Please turn it off, it is a very very bad design!
MacOS user here. My company started using Teams this week and I have my mic muted with Shush.app to block background noise and wear headphones because I don't need everyone to hear my calls. I'm constantly having Teams pop up messages that I'm muted (yes, on purpose) and that Teams can't hear my speakers. Yeah, they're headphones.
I can't believe I can't turn these messages off after their first appearance. It's just constant and need to stop.

I can't believe they still didn't manage to listen to their users since July, 2018!
Spread the message that this nag needs to go.

The product manager should actually recognise that there are two use cases here:
- one is the meeting attendees who's mic are muted because of their choice or because they started that way (large meetings).
In this case raising the notification when the mic detects audio would be useful in case the user is actually trying to intervene and that is the behaviour being implemented
- the other use case would be that of somebody watching a presentation or an intervention by others and keeping the mic on mute for obvious privacy reasons.
In this case having the alert pop up continuously is very annoying as it covers the screen.
A good way to solve both would just to allow for the "You're on mute" alert to be "closed for good" or "muted" so that it stays disabled for the entire duration of that meeting.
I suspect that some sort of adaptive behaviour must have been implemented because now after a few times the popup stops appearing
Apart from really wishing I could permanently disable this feature, I also think this is pretty useless, since most people in the meeting will tell you as soon as you start talking while muted often before the warning even appears. When you're not talking, they won't tell you, and therefore you would not want the warning to pop up.

Either replace this dialogue by a small notification in the top bar or enable "babyproof" features in the settings allowing to suppress it once for all.
in response to you they've only made it bigger
