In Skype for Business client I can add a Distribution List as a Contact Group.
Can we have this feature in Teams?

Adding a Distribution List to Teams Group makes communication easier and faster with each other, including employees and management. It allows members of management to easily share information and participate in discussions with employees and others. I truly believe it is efficient and necessary - especially during our Telework environment.

Definitely loosing distro list is a huge downgrade from Skype across the board. Please keep this feature ON in Teams to allow smooth transition.

adding support for on-prem DLs is key. having to convert all our on-prem DLs in our current exchange hybrid environment is a massive undertaking just to get this simple functionality when we have 1000s of them.

I totally take advantage of Distribution Lists in Skype. I totally agree that this feature needs to also be in MS Teams Chat.

Using existing distribution lists will cut down on the chaos of creating new groups. Groups that duplicate what we already use and manage through Exchange.

Kind of the biggest no brainer in the history of the civilized world, don't you think?

This is really used a lot in Payment centers and allows managers quick access to groups of people based on job title or the entire unit. The groups are maintained by the SYSCOs and managers and admin staff don't need to add and delete as people move around. As long as the SYSCO is putting them or taking them out as the move around the groups are best.
