File sharing of powerpoint is not recorded in meetings
I was recording my meeting that included file sharing (powerpoint file). Afterward, I was watching the record and I've noticed that it wasn't visible. Once I switched to the screen sharing it was visible in the record.
We are happy to announce that this feature has started rolling out to the public ring – you should see it soon!

This was a simple task with Skype for Business... Bring back the functionality for Teams, having multiple presenters doesn't support "share your screen with the powerpoint" as a solution...

This has bitten me twice lately and we've resorted to intercepting the cameras and presented content with recording equipment - this is a pain as the audio, video, and presentation all have to be mixed together then manually uploaded to Stream at the end of the meeting. Would be fixed if Teams just had an invisible user join the meeting and record whatever was presented to them. Why it records anything different than what the end users see is baffling.

This is disappointing. We have been weighing pros and cons of moving a large monthly call to Teams vs. Skype and sadly, this is one for the "con" column. On these calls, which I record, I usually share a ppt file for our Presenters which allows me to monitor the chat window and also receive offline pings from people if they need to reach me about something they don't want to put in the public chat (I'm not currently set up with a double monitor). Having to share my full desktop in order to get the slides to show up in the recording would definitely limit my ability to manage the other aspects of the call.

Agree that this is needed, especially because the alternative of sharing desktop does not allow the presenter to see the conversation.
Today when testing this we did see a message "File sharing not recorded: To record a PowerPoint presentation, share your desktop instead."
same here, take me long to find out only desktop sharing or Window programme sharing are getting recorded but not for Powerpoint or Browse function.

It would be good to know if this will be fixed by the product group as it is not obvious that PPT recording doesn't work at all.
I recently video conferenced in teams with students, I presented a powerpoint lecture and student's discussed the slides verbally and also typed notes in the comments panel down the side. It worked well I recorded the session in streams. The issue was when we came to play back the recording the powerpoint and typed comments were not visible only the faces of the people who were part of the videoconferencing session. This was a real disappointment because I wanted students to be able to review the lectures recordings later on line following the powerpoint whilst listening to the narration and reading the accompanying notes. I thought this was an obvious feature which was included in Skype for business but seems to have been omitted in Teams ? Can anyone advise, has it been configured wrongly?
