Closing a document takes you to the top folder
When I open a document within a folder within a folder, and then close the document, I'm taken to back the very first folder. It would be nice to be able to close the document and return to the folder I opened it from.
I have the same issue, it's really frustrating. I use nested folders on Sharepoint on Teams, these folders include various document types but I use Word to record all my client contact records (sometimes 40-50 a day). Each time I update the document I then have to return to the Team or Channel and navigate back through to the nested client files. Just a 'close' button (same as for PDFs etc) would help.
We have had the same issue. When closing documents within nested folders, it is very frustrating to be taken right back to the top level. It would be very helpful to go back to the location of the actual file.

All views in the UI should have persistent state. This also ties in with the idea of each view being capable of being undocked into a separate window.
